I tried to do a trial roulette in the 20 minutes before the servers went down.
Of course it was Titania.

there was one DPS in 3 of my parties that was seemingly lagging super hard, considering he stood around mid fight for no reason and don't move for what felt like eternities, only to follow the rest of the party that pushed on as normal
seemed to be doing fine though, but I completely understood that they didn't want to leave and sort out whatever internet problems they were having due to the insanely long queue
that DPS was me
Now that I'm back from aforcedvacation, time to drag this back to the front page.
I've got a fair many stories to recount in my time since EA dropped - too many, really, both good and bad. And I'm tired, so I'm not going to try to go through all of them. Suffice to say, EW's been a slightly mixed bag at varying levels.
Particularly, though... I swear it feels like all the WHMs I'm getting lately in EW dungeons are struggling hardcore to keep me up.
For half of them I'd just been attributing it to my gear being a bit of a hodgepodge - I've had random grey HQ gear, dungeon gear, and my old end-of-ShB gear in varying mashups all through the 80~90 process, so I know it hasn't been great. At some point I stopped trying to keep up with slotting materia, too, as I was attempting to push MSQ as much as I could each day due to my limited playtime (between work and then queues).
That said, I tanked the last dungeon with at least three level 80 accessories still on me due to poor luck with drops my first time through each dungeon up to that point. And yet, the SGE I got didn't struggle at all. So... hm.
Now that I've finally finished MSQ, hit 90, picked up my AF gear and also replaced all my accessories with tome stuff - I just have to wonder if I'm just getting bad WHMs. Or if WHM as a class is now struggling to keep up with the increased damage brought on from the stat squish.
Had a WHM during my Expert that just... couldn't. My health was constantly pingponging into concerning numbers, despite proper CD rotation and even utilizing Corundum for its Excog effect more than its defense. GNB isn't as survivable as PLD or WAR are, sure, but I've certainly not feared for my life that often during my EW leveling process when getting SGE/SCHs and one rare AST. Worst part is, I genuinely couldn't see them doing anything particularly wrong? They were utilizing their lilies often, Benisons, regen, bubble, Assize-- Cure 2, if they were really pressed. And yet, it felt like they were struggling to keep me up and I genuinely don't know why. It certainly wasn't on my end, either...
Idk man. I struggled a couple times when I did the first dungeon on my WHM, but not to that degree - so I genuinely can't say what was going on there.
It's not just you. In all the Expert Roulettes I've ran to get my 570 gear, I've had 2 instances where I have WHM's as healers. The 1 struggled CONSTANTLY to keep me up, which thankfully being a Paladin I have other ways of surviving. I asked at the start how big they wanted the pulls, "Go crazy." Yeah, no. Started reducing pull size and they started mad complaining that I wasn't wall to walling. When I replied that they seemed to have issues keeping me up and I was burning through mitigation constantly, they left.
Another instance was far worse. I had a WHM that basically only would throw up 1 regen on me (Not even the second one), and refused to heal me because, and I quote, "You're a paladin. I don't have to do anything."
The SLEW of Sages and Scholars I've ran with all had 0 issues, were friendly in party chat, and were amazing to run with. Haven't seen a single AST in roulette once this expansion. But WHMs? WHMs scare me now.
I've definitely learned to adore SGE healers lmao. Literally they don't seem to struggle whatsoever and I feel more secure with them than I have with any rando healer in a long time. Lucky for me, two of my FC mates are leveling SGE - so I'll have my usual pocket healers available for stuff most days. It's not just you. Really dunno what's going on with WHM though. Whether it be the people playing it, or simply the class itself.

I just had a tank that called me the worst healer he ever had in 2nd new dungeon, but he never died on my watch and I was DPSing like crazy as White Mage at the same time. He left quickly after that comment, and the other guys completely disagreed what he said and his behavior.
I think he was upset at the beginning at the dungeon because I made a minor error, but that is so silly to be upset about.
I will say that comment did upset me alittle, it was out of the blue when I thought I did just fine.

Yesterday I had a SMN running ahead of me to pull everything in one of the last 2 dungeons.
He was the only one not new in there.
I always make wall pulls but also waited for the healer because just like me and the other DPS he was looking around in this new dungeon.
The first time I let it slide, it could have been a accident.
The 2nd time it was obvious that he did it on purpose so I let him die.
He also did it a 3rd time, so I wrote him that I don't want to Speedrun a dungeon when I'm in there the first time.
He did not do it again, but some player really need to chill with new content.
After 3-5 runs I would be happy to speed run it but not in my first run.
My co-heal (both SGE) never bothered to unlock Panhaima. Or, I guess, read their tooltips. Lots of Diagnosis casts. The Dark Inside. That's all.
I give up with you people. Forum community is absolutely unhinged. Imagine joining my alt's FC just to wait for me to come online to harass me lmao.
over nothing, I assume? shitsux
cringe, especially considering you didn't communicate that you wanted to go slower in the first place
Not sure why but in Vanaspati, i really struggled to keep the gnb alive, his hp was ping ping hard while i literally used all my cds and heal spells since he was squashy like a sponge . So either it's something about that dungeon since i had no issues with the previous 2 at all, or i might have to give up healing since i see some people are complaining about whm.
After 6 years of healing, guess it's time to let you guys with better healing.
./sarcasm
I really don't understand why when the healer says it's his first time, you go nuts and try to pull to the wall.
Edit: sorry had to get that out of my system since it was a bad run .
