There are very few times in the course of FFXIV where you feel like you have to think a bit before acting. Due to this, I am appreciative for this quest. It was still a bit too easy for my liking(had like 4 medpacks remaining by the end), but kudos for the creativity. What happened after was epic as well.

I have not gotten to it yet but every other duty quest where I play as some other class or character I have hated with a passion. I'm just glad I can die set them on very easy and skip thru it as fast as possible. I would skip these if possible. That being said I'm glad people love them and would never want them removed, I just wish they gave us a option to skip them.

Same, it wasn't even hard. I cleared in on first try with a lot of time to spare. People just doesn't want to use their head.

I agree. Especially when "very easy" mode exists, it gives them more freedom to bump up the difficulty.

My main gripe with it was having to backtrack, forcing me to find the magitek armor first before talking to the wounded soldier and getting the ceruleum.

Story wise I also felt things resolved too cleanly at the end but that's separate from gameplay. I ultimately liked this a lot more than random 'let's make you play as Alisae for this fight to pad things out.'

I generally enjoyed the quest. If they are going to keep doing the "play as someone other than yourself" quests, this is the way they should do them. Not saying they should all be exactly like this one or Metal Gear Thancred, but make sure you're not just doing a standard fight but just with a different character and gimped buttons. Make the alternate instance have something new or unique or different. Take advantage of it being a different instance with a different character by having different objectives and mechanics as opposed to just another normal fight.

Man was that quest stressful. The timer had me panicking, I used up the few medkits I found since I was too scared to get close to anything for the most part, ended at 26 HP after the explosion, and I almost failed the button mash at the end since I forgot that keybinds aren't active for roleplay quests.

It's definitely the most memorable solo duty in the game so far, though, so I can't say I hated it!

I liked it, it was new and fun but I wouldn't want them to do it over and over. Yoshi and Co. are notorious for finding something new and using it every single chance they can.

I think it might genuinely be my favourite part of the expansion.

It was definitely a moment more suited for a single player game, but I really liked that about the instance?

Genuine question was the easy mode too difficult as well? If its too mechanically difficult for some people then I do think the easy mode should be simplified further.

Gameplay wise it was fine, interesting even. I just really didn't enjoy the story side of it.
