Is the chip shortage now a meme in the community?

They cant at this moment make it shorter. It means more hardware to hold more people and they have already upgraded the current servers to handle more. This was stated in the media letter posted prior to early access.

Like it not the chip shortage is linked to this issue. The servers are capacity they could push it up further but then you risk instabilty, lag and server crashes.

Oh but OP doesn't believe any of that. They just think SE is lying because ... reasons.

I don't care about chip shortage and the queue. That has nothing to do with the problem many of us have.

Except it kinda does. Without the chip shortage it's likely the servers would have gotten upgraded along with new ones added so the burden on the queue system itself would have been far less.
