Oh I feel dumb now, I didn't even look at the dates. This thread felt like something could been posted yesterday. Nice neco, well done.

You can actually increase server capacity overnight....I just want to say this; You DO realize that this problem is a result of an overwhelming number of people trying to play, right? That the game is just WAY more popular than they expected? You can't increase server capacity overnight, have a little patience. It's only been a week since official launch, and they're implementing the first big fix on it tomorrow.
No need to get riled up just because you can't play right now.
You know what would happen if they removed the restrictions? The servers would go haywire, and then NO ONE would play, just like BEFORE they implemented the restrictions.
So please, calm down, take a deep breath, find some other hobby while you wait. It isn't the end of the world, and your money isn't wasted. The game will be there and ready when the fixes are done.
Thank you.
Nowadays, a good Kubernetes programmer can put any infrastructure on demand for computing resources.
The problem is they are not taking advantages of the Cloud, even if temporary !
The big issue is not being able to idly wait and keep watch on the screen for login without getting disconnected. If they can fix that portion of the queue, this wouldn't be so bad. But to wait 3-4k people in line, get down to 1, get disconnected from the login queue and then not immediately get back in line at 1 is just bad.
On stuff like this, I just tell one thing: For some people, the "first"-experience is of utmost importance. Being able to just flow with the expansion content naturally with other players first-time experiencing content has something magical to it. And you needn't be max level in the first few days to experience it. Neither will it work when a few weeks have passed.I just want to say this; You DO realize that this problem is a result of an overwhelming number of people trying to play, right? Personally, I am a rather patient player. However, Having to "minigame" a queue (have to be there, otherwise you can't react to 2002 and won't login at all!) is pretty painful, as is having your time windows shattered by inaccessibility. People that normally are rather busy will make time frames so they have some time for themselves. As for me, the last 3 days have been my first real holiday since march 2020 - well at least as much of a holiday as someone that is self-employed will ever get. Of course, this is strongly due to the pandemic as well. But anyway.
I think it is more then fair that some people say they are unhappy with this situation. And that for some people, a few extra days will never ever make up for time lost.
Anyway, I get that some players just want the community to calm down some. But .. it is a really difficult situation for a lot of people. And personally, I just can't help myself to see the outcome as some kind of preordained failing. They new it would come, they knew it would hurt, but there wasn't really anything to help it.
Foul Necromancy!
Here's Yoshi talking about cloud services.

If it doesn't jump to the correct timeframe...

TLDR from the digest letter - https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...289-30-2021%29
In the past, we partnered with a major company to experiment with switching to cloud servers. However, from a server cost and reliability perspective, we concluded that it was unlikely.
Necromancy class is only playable on the forums.
Enjoy Life you only get one.
They could have developed some kind of alternative queue/login system utilizing cloud servers to balance load IF they were competent. They're still a Japanese game company and they haven't been "ahead of the game" since Metal Gear Solid 2
I think something people have not taken into consideration - saying that Sq-EX should have taken into account preorders of EndWalker, and the fact that they are still selling Endwalker even though there are serious issues with queue times and 2002 disconnects is that... People who haven't bought EW, but own any of the other expansions and also are paying their subs are playing as well. I know of a couple of people who started playing just a couple of months ago - taking their time with the story so far, that haven't bought Endwalker yet and don't intend to until they are ready for it. These people also are paying customers and have the right to play as well.
Do I like the long queues, the 2002 disconnects, of course not, although I have been lucky in the past 3 days that I've only gotten sent to the back of the queue once, despite numerous 2002s while sitting in queue. I do hope they can solve the disconnects (not being anywhere near the realm of IT, I have no idea what it will take) quickly at least - long queue times while irritating are understandable at a launch. What I've played so far has been amazing. I'm taking my time and enjoying the journey, and I hope htose who have had worse issues logging in get to do the same very soon.
thank you for the kind words, we all love the game, we are upset we cant play it, atleast let us have our space to vent it out.I just want to say this; You DO realize that this problem is a result of an overwhelming number of people trying to play, right? with this said, playing devil's advocate here... don't you think they already projected this? this game didnt get popular just because of endwalker... they had months to realize what a compounding effect endwalker would now have. just think about this.
Once for all, time will see us realign, diamonds rain across the sky, shower me into the same realm.
