This is a thing called "cashing in goodwill"
If it were Blizzard who is currently dealing with a new scandal every week? Nah
EA who is aiming to become king of microtransactions? Nope
Behaviour with their terrible code and non-existant response to blatant cheating? Nope

Meanwhile the dev team for XIV has gone above and beyond listening to customer feedback. They've done dumb stuff, sure, but they've done so much more stuff FOR the players that they can cash in said goodwill and players will forgive them for it. The game is good, they've listened to complaints, some decisions have been questionable, some stuff could be better, but Yoshi-P's team have proven they care about the players, so when they screw up (and they even realize they screwed up!), we can support them.

History covers everything not just launches and it counts irl actions as well.

Example Blizzard makes am expansion fires a large amount of works right after almost everone of theres. Then player wins they refuse to give him his price for calling oyt china out of no poltics rule two days later gets political.
Their players boo a mobile game what they do insult them and still go with it.
Then they toss out unfinished ganes and have puritan views from the 18th century basically.
Ea just massive greed reselling same game 15 times plus times.

    Actovision almost same deaks.

Se humbly talks, feels bad when things go wrong and they give you a Finished game. Yes the first few days msy be hard but if you dont expect that in ganes your not a gamer.

or an plane trip. you bought your ticked. you go to the counter and check in. now you have to wait in line to board the plane. at any time you could be knocked out of line and forced to recheck in and get back into the line.

or you go to a hotel. you pay for a room. now to get to the floor your room is on. you have to take the elevator. only so many people are allowed on the floor at a time/ there is a guard there. only letting people get on when other people leave. Then wile standing in line. the guard tell you there is a problem. you get knocked out of line. then have to recheck in, and get back in line. at the end.

How many "white knights" would defend these. as they do gaming companies.
Also this is there 4-5 expansion. has the company not learn anything?
Are there 100s of thousands to a million people pulling on that handle at the same time?

You've clearly never been on a plane if you think this doesn't happen.

When you compare something, when you use this particular literaly device, you must use it well. Otherwise it become a tool for the destruction of your own argument. That is the case here. Allow me to explain why.

Car making companies must do something that, if work improperly, can kill people, both inside and outside the car. A lot of people. Some even work for the army, even. When you deal with something that has the potential to kill people if it haven't been assembled properly, the way you design, the way you create it, put it together and the almost neverending list of people that must approve it's final launch into the market. Also, cars have worked over the same principle for over a century. You can improve the combustion engine, it's carcass, it's electronic devices and the fuel mixture over an extent, but you can't change that technology. Even the electric engine basically works in a fashion similar to the conbustion engine. Also also, this process is slow, supervised by a myriad of organizations. That's for starters. The process of creating anything physical against the process of creating something that isn't physical is totally oposed in many ways. Machines, methods, workers and the way they work, even the education of said workers change completly. It's not even the same economic activity, since cars are a commodity and games a service.

The second and third one are too fanciful, too far away from reality and becouse of that it doesn't make sense, and the problem is the elevator, or the security guard, not the hotel. If you want to draw a comparation here, you should have thought on problems with the informatic systems that allows people to sell more rooms than the hotel has, or allow a convetion, a wedding or something of the sort when said hotel is already at full capacity. Problem, that is happening a lot since the pandemic, all around the world, hotels are having a real trouble because many travel agencies and internet check-ins are selling too much, and since the world crisis is far from gone, rooms are reserved and cancelled with every new information about the evolution of the virus and it's impact on many countries. So that is a crisis that is hitting hard on hotels. And fly companies too, which pretty much allows me to jump over that particular case. However, even with that, the comparation isn't valid, since hotels and planes involves so many things, both private and public, all around the world at a global scale. Compare that with a studio making games isn't really fair.
