Paid for the expansion - went in queue - over 4,000 in the queue. Waited 3.5 HOURS! and finally got to number 383 - then "lobby server has encountered an error".

Had to restart and now over 6000 in the queue - so if you are riling at waiting 30 mins - then try my "club"

If you pay for early access then you should at least get it. If they cannot provide it then it should not be offered perhaps.

Maybe they will consider a bit of compensation for the paying customer perhaps.

How much extra over the purchase price did you "pay" for early access?

I mean they did warn us =/. Ive had zero problems outside the first 30 minutes of launch, but it does suck to hear that others are experiencing difficulties =( Im sure they're doing all they can to get things going smoother, hopefully it gets sorted out soon.

The last time something like this happened they apologized and said deal with it just like they said this time before launch.

What in the world? It appears that many on this forum complaining about the number of servers are under the impression that the game runs on white-box PCs running Linux or something. "Go to the Cloud" they say. "Third-party servers" they say. "It's EASY" they think.

Dang.

The truth of the matter is that none of these people have any idea what hardware this game runs on. The only thing I can guarantee is that it isn't Amazon Cloud, nor is the game capable of running on a single virtual machine. I'd bet money that there a number of other servers in place beyond the 'named Server' representing each World.

If 1,000 people logged onto each named World at 1 am PDT on 3 December, 68,000 people were in the queue. If 10,000 people logged in, that would be 680,000 people. And you think queues were unreasonable?

Just be patient, the team put it out on all their mass media platforms that they were expecting this high congestion and pleaded with us to have faith.

One could arguably see such statements as damage control. They've been spending a lot of money marketing the game over the last few years in particular, even before Covid-19 entered the equation. The North American servers were future proofed to account for projected population increases yet the European servers, mysteriously, were not.

I get the queue , I get the wait - I accept the queue and the wait. I dont accept waiting 2 hours in a queue getting DC’d by the lobby server and going to the back of an 8000 man queue to do it all again..That is poor Software coding and easily managed

I haven't played in 6 year and thought I would come back to the game now that I had more time to play. Apparently the game has other ideas, as even though I paid for the preorder of Endwalker and registered for early access, every time I try to log in I'm in a 3,000+ person queue that takes over half an hour to get into the game. Servers are flooded and they haven't even bothered to make new ones to fix this problem. This is a KNOWN problem that has existed for as long as MMO's have existed and they have learned nothing.


This just in!!! "The lobby connection has encountered an error!:" So I sat in queue for zalera for 20 minutes only for the game to kick me, wow, yea I'm starting to agree with other people demanding a refund for this, this is UNACCEPTABLE!

Did we really need another thread saying the same thing? Could you really not take 5 seconds to look on page 1 of this subforum and see the 5 other threads?

Stop blaming covid for every last problem in the world, it was old a year ago and it's definitely old right now.

Pandemic is still on going, there is a well known shortage on supply chains & semiconductors - which are required in most electrionic equipment today including servers.

You may hate covid being used as an excuse but it's a valid excuse when it distrupt so many things.
Like I want to order a new car cause my lease is ending soon but it's a long delivery due to obove mention reasons. It is what it is and there isn't anything Square Enix or any manufacture could've been to prepare for this since they didn't have this enmass influx in 2018-2019.

Someone stated in another forum post that they haven't added any new servers in over 8 months even though they knew that ALL servers are filled to capacity.

Pandemic was going strong 8 months ago. Do you think before you speak or type?

I'm just not happy that I paid prelaunch price to play FFXI - Endwaiter. 10-12 hours of watching and waiting for the queue to end (providing I don't get error 2002, which I just did 1 min ago.)
