Mount Farm, but in Ultimates please.

    Hello people I don't know,

I have cleared TEA about 30 times now and UCOB a little over a dozen, UWU I don't like so much so only 1 there. My point is having excess totems seems tragic after you bought all the weapons. I would love to trade a Perfect Alexander mount for 99 totems (still got ~15 extra on me).
I don't have too much motivation to go back in TEA, but helping friends who didn't get a chance to progress that amazing fight would be a bigger motivator, because no way a single group will clear TEA for example 99 times though it wouldn't surprise me. Trying different roles is always fun.

I'd imagine Ultimate Weapon for UWU, and Golden Bahamut for UCOB too with 99 totems. No mount drop chance is fine. And the Dragonsong Ultimate later, Nidhogg? idk yet on that one. Thoughts?

(Each having an enrage mount skill would be a cherry on top; like Golden Bahamut enrage mount skill to cast Akh Morn on a target but 0 damage lol, Ultimate weapon maybe the lifting of the player and moving them into a circle though nothing happens, and perfect alexander jailing a player for a second or two. )

TLDR: Want bigger motivator to help friends with their ultimate clears with a 99 totem mount farm like in Extremes, but for Ultimates. Have a good day, and have fun in Endwalker soon I definitely will.

While the Ult glowy weapons are nice, most dont really care too much about them, but toss a mount into Ults and expect sooo much backlash, lul.

No thanks, its hard enough getting a group for these.

we should get weapons for the newer jobs though to enhance replayability

The cool, and unique, weapon visual effects should be motivation enough. It's exclusive content for the like 1% of the 1% who isn't satisfied with savage raiding and wants something harder; there's no particular need to focus on giving it an increasing number of exclusive rewards non-ultimate raiders can't get.

The reason there are no Ultimate mounts is because SE doesn't expect most players to do Ultimate. In their words, you are more likely to watch it on a twitch stream than do the content yourself. For this reason the most it will give is a glamour, a title and an extra materia slot.

The content they expect players to actually clear is Savage so this drops item level increases and mounts.

While Ultimate is definitely hard to clear, "1% of the 1%" is exaggerating a bit too much.

Using ffxivcollect (a website used to show collections/achievements in XIV), it shows that 9.3% have cleared Ultima Weapon Ultimate at least once. In comparison, 21% have completed Eden's Promise (Savage) at least once.
Now, the disclaimer here is that the website obviously doesn't show the data from every single character ever created. However, the sample data should be large enough to create a rough estimate on how many players have cleared an ultimate compared to how many have cleared the current Savage tier. That's also excluding the amount of players who are still attempting to get an ultimate clear.

OP's suggestion doesn't sound like it'd take a significant amount of resources either, since it'd be reusing models from the fights itself. And while clearing it 99 times sounds like an absolutely insane grind, it's not like XIV doesn't already have a bunch of those anyway.

How would you explain the existence of Feast mounts? Only the top 100 players of a datacenter get these, so SE doesn't really have an issue with adding mounts as exclusive rewards. Not to mention the Pteranodon mount, which is currently the rarest non-Feast mount.

I don't think we should be adding even more rewards that's exclusive for the 1% of layers that clear ultimate. It's unfair to the rest of the 99% of players

As someone that has no plans to do Ultimate at all, and probably don't even have the skill to clear. I think having an obtainable mount in the content is a great idea. Encourages even more people to at least try the content. But also gives something more to those who have completed it so many times. I do not agree it's unfair as the way to obtain it would be the same for anyone. Just because it's outside of your skill range doesn't make it unfair. I would be excited just to see it in game.

I really don't want that kind of additional pressure-to-farm added to ultimate tbh. I just don't think ultimate was really created with the idea of it being farmed like an EX primal, a grind like that would genuinely be bad for peoples mental health and relationships. I already see arguments in ultimate statics over how many reclears they intend to do.

I'd rather see some kind of mount added for multiple fight completion, along the lines of the BLU mount, so that there's some kind of meaningful reward for being a triple legend (or quad legend soon).

I think it's good there is gameplay content for the most extreme of extremes, but honestly I don't think there should be many rewards behind it- such that it is fine as it is now. I'm also one that thinks difficulty settings in games to make the game as fun as it can be for each player is great, but I don't think there should be much in the way of rewards (particularly for those settings) beyond the fun itself because it's such an, imo, unnecessary exclusion to put good rewards behind such concepts. That is a perspective though, there are games that players enjoy that are entirely counter (and there are games in full stop agreement too).

To me the largest issue with this is the non-negotiable (roughly speaking) element of the content. This content is hyper exclusive, and therefore I think it should be very limited in reward scope (as such that it already is, that's enough, imo). Unlike say a savage content where you could do it right away at a challenge or much later (sometimes much much later) and be able to do it more at your skill / difficulty setting.

I strongly believe in, with some rough edges due to the multiplayer nature of the game, allowing players to engage the game at a challenge they find enjoyable (without ideally making the content unfun to do so, which is why things like min ilvl options exists). Tis a game, not a job. . . Well technically for some it is a job, or an extremely time consuming hobby, which I think should be carefully designed around as that may potentially include wildly different perspective on a lot of elements of the game (or in other terms, we all know the meme of Koreaon MMOs and their absolutely insane grinds). This is where I strongly support and greatly enjoy the idea of the rolling mountain of participation / challenge that pervades most of the game, allowing a hugely diverse audience to partake in basically whatever catches their fancy.

Wouldn't be end of the world but I don't think it is a particularly great move, my opinion. Which is to say I don't think there is anything awful, evil, or terribly wrong with the desire, just I don't think it would be a good move. More savage, or other more malleable / adaptable content, mounts though seems totally fine.
