One might think that the Community is just one giant Cult with its own strict rules and Idol of worship .It's not that other game communities are better. It's how people promote this game under this light of "purity", when they themselves are often the exact opposite. Hence the "Great community, btw".
Especially when taking into account draconian ToS. It just makes people question the sincerity of others niceness. Is it genuine; or for fear of being punished if you act out.
I've been in FC's where discord is used exclusively, to circumvent any risk of infractions.
I dunno. The only rule I'm aware of is the one I made that said if I ever caught someone worshiping me as an idol I would slap them across the face with a tuna until they stopped doing so.

Or one could consider that there is no single Community, learn to play by the rules set forth by the game company that enforces them, and get on with their life.
I have yet to see someone promote this game as a 'light of purity'. I have watched, and read posts, from people who appear to enjoy the relative lack of abuse from other players that is common in PVP-centric MMORPGs.
The fact that you cannot "swear like a sailor" (something with which I am intimately acquainted) in public without attracting some form of moderation is a good thing when I compare it to what's apparently allowed in other (mostly non-MMORPG) games.
From what I've been reading here of late, the only true Idol to worship stands above the altar of abusive gamesmanship. I'm certain that is not what you intended to convey. Or was it?
The fact you can get banned for simply swearing, is asinine in itself.Or one could consider that there is no single Community, learn to play by the rules set forth by the game company that enforces them, and get on with their life.

Just about every MMO on the market has some sort of policy for this. It's just less moderated than others in some games. As someone who swears a lot on a daily basis outside of the game, I don't mind this at all. It's really not that difficult of a rule to follow. Just equip that filter on your brain and you're good to go! Even if I see someone else cursing though I will never report them unless they take it to certain extremes. It doesn't bother me in most cases when I see it in game. I doubt it bothers much of anyone, honestly, but people are still rolling the dice if they decide to take part. All it takes is one person who is not okay with it.

Yes they do. Every single one of them.
And language filters are simply that. XIV has them too. But there's also a difference between swearing and swearing at people.
WoW, New World, ESO, all of these have profanity filters, and all of them can ban you for swearing, even just a quick google shows its not exactly uncommon.
