Yep, and it has the opposite effect on me. I get overwhelmed by having to remain paying and playing even after I am burned out, it gets to the point I decide to just dump games that do it altogether. It's why I can't stand things like battlepasses, for example. There are too many different games to play for me to be chained to one or two just to receive some novelties.

I for one, am overjoyed with all the PvP changes that are coming towards us.
If all Jobs get properly reworked to a point where you can have proper 5vs5 Matches with every Job combination without anything being too cheesy, one might think PvP in FFXIV is finally being good, or at least, better than before.
Check on Season 18 Chaos Datacenter Rankings on Feast and then try saying that again.

I'm so glad they're doing this with the battle pass system. Unlike most games where if you miss a few weeks you miss out on rewards, you can come back any time to complete the ranks. The dev team really care about player experience and are one of the few that push back against most game companies putting in FOMO mechanics to boost sales and numbers.
No missing out if you had to take time off the game. And you can get rewards from old Feast ranks that were hard to get if you're not on all the time, and even still all the win traders and bots...

There are 7 people on the Primal rankings that are all the same person. They have the same last name and same FC, and all but one are chars with barely one or two jobs leveled and no mounts past the account-wide Mogstation and Feast. Several of the top 10 (hell, top 3) on Crystal are alts. You can tell because they have 1 job leveled, no minions, and no mounts except MSQ. There is no rule against having alts in the Feast (there should have been), but I doubt that someone could have time to rank their main and an alt, let alone 6 alts, legitimately.
Just from a quick 10 min search, I found a dozen people on the Crystal leaderboard that are just alts. Even if they didn't cheat and win trade (doubtful), this is a dozen legit players who were pushed out of rewards because of other people's greed.
Not to mention, all of the booster sellers sell Feast - these would be harder to catch as no doubt they offer pilots of the account. Even the most legit looking of accounts could have bought a boost, making it truly impossible to tell how many people actually earned their top 100.
As a cherry on top, I also had a friend of a friend who invited me to a Crystal Feast win trading Discord when I expressed disdain for how Feast ranking works. I checked it out, because I was so positive that it was not an actual win trader Discord and just a PvPaissa alternative. It was indeed, for win trading. They would organize queues and have one team sit down and purposefully lose. There are around 3 people I recognize from that Discord on the leaderboard now. There were around 30-smth people in that Discord when I left.
This story is just an anecdote, so feel free to take it with a grain of salt if you must. This was the final nail in the coffin for me though.

All I can say is *crab rave* Feast is Dead! *crab rave* The reward system was what gutted and killed the Feast. It attracted all manner of cheaters and bad attitudes, and I'm thrilled to see it gone.
The Battle Pass looksk cool and I will be very happy if they wrap old Feast rewards into the Battle Pass, because then I can finally get that green Magitek Chair I love so much. Every time I tried a Feast Season, I would get stopped at high Bronze/Silver because the queues skyrocketed from 10 min to 5 hours after about a week.

There are wintraders, but some DCs and seasons are far worse than others. However wintraders/boosters/hackers are exactly why as someone that played hundreds and hundreds of games to get these rewards, I still am okay with previous rewards being opened back up. There was one guy that paid $1.4k for Season 18 top 100. Primal Season 18 was by far the worst.
However, Feast was not a dead game mode. This current season is long, so it was naturally doing to die off. However most seasons, if you hit gold by a certain point (maybe even just silver) you can get games most or all of the season. Unranked matches (unranked/ bronze/ silver) tend to die off before the higher end matches (gold/ plat and plat/ dia).
Okay this is blatantly false.

Does this mean I can finally get a Mado Brush?

Even if there were not win traders, saying that only 100 people can get the rewards is a great way to put people off bothering to pvp, because most people are going to think there is no hope of them being among those 100.
I did really well at pvp, I didn't die and my kill rate was high but the other 3 were not good enough most of the time, so even though I did pvp all day my win rate was not enough to grow and I was getting pushed further away from the top 100. That just put me off.
Most likely the old Top 100 rewards will not be brought back in any way, since that was the "agreement" when those rewards were added and it would be going back on their word to bring them back.
However if they did decide to offer them again, I think that is not a problem as long as they remain rewards for Ranked PvP. If you need to get Top 100 to get an old armour set, I don't see how that diminishes the achievement of someone who got Top 100 in the season where that armour set was the prize. They're still difficult accomplishments and it's not just being given away for free to "dirty casuals". If players in the Top 100 of a season could select from any prior reward, not only would this increase the amount of people playing ranked PvP because people can go for the stuff they want, but it also removes most of the pressure to absolutely definitely get Top 100 since you can always try again next season, which makes PvP more enjoyable and less stressful.
FOMO rewards are bad, because they can't motivate anyone to play once the time period is over. No matter how good I am at PvP, no matter how much I'm willing to play, I can never get the Shadowstalker armour set because that season is over.
I think that having the attitude of "I don't want anyone else to have this so I can be special" is unhealthy for the game. Imagine if this attitude was applied to something like Ultimate weapons, Savage mounts, or the Necromancer title, where only the first X-hundred players to clear could get those rewards. Rewards that could potentially serve as incentives for tens of thousands of players to join and have fun are removed, effectively killing that content, just so a few hundred players have something to lord over others forever.
In 6 years of playing the game, I've gotten many rewards that took me a long time and a lot of effort to earn, some of which have since been made easier after I earned them (such as extreme mounts and triple triad cards) but I have never thought "no one should be able to get this after me". I earned the Garo armour, mounts and titles when that event was happening, but I would never begrudge it if they were to bring that event back so other players could get those things. I had fun doing that stuff. If PvP isn't fun and people are only in it for the FOMO rewards, that is an issue with the PvP, and not a reason to keep FOMO.
Again, I don't expect them to bring back old Top 100 rewards nor am I asking for it outright, but it would be fine if they did. Whatever the reward system for ranked PvP is going forward, it should NOT be limited time or amount.
If anything, I would prefer if Top 100 rewards never changed and were just titles or items or something that are always the same so that the same players don't have so much incentive to cheat and get multiple characters on the board every single season. You could still have different titles or items depending on exact placement (e.g. special title/trophy for 1st, Top 5, Top 10, Top 25, Top 50) so there is still motivation for people who placed in previous seasons to try and do better next season. New and continuously updating rewards such as mounts and glamour should be from tier and currency exchange, where the items are just added onto a vendor forever so players can work towards them over time, like the Hellhound weapons.

Most people will not have the rewards even without them being restricted to a top 100, because look at the achievement pvp mounts and even the currency mounts. How many people have these? Not many. So they will still feel special to have.
