blame QA. its called a quarantine breaking bug. it happens, if you arent associated with any kind of software development, it may seem unfair, but I doubt you want a broken launch either. sorry about your vacation, but I doubt they did it just to annoy you.

basically, they found an issue and couldnt fix it in time to have it properly tested before launch. unlike Blizzard they dont use normal players for quality control after launch.. be glad of that.

If the decision was made a week ago, then I think it would have been beneficial to inform players immediately. That'd increase the amount of people who could tweak the time off that they booked.

With the current timing, however, a lot of people are now going to be unable to change things in their favour.

If the math is about right they waited till after SE annual report was released. If they had announced when they knew it would have been a damper on the report.

That is definitely not the way he presented it. They took too much time and didn't make it to that stage. He said they even discussed reducing QA window.

While I agree that it's disappointing, so many people seem to be acting like this time off is the only time in their lives that they'll be able to play the game. It's still launching. It will still be there going forward. We just might not be in a position to binge through the content in under a week. I get the hype, I really do. But there's some people commenting here as if this delay somehow makes the game unplayable for them altogether.

I find it funny that the discussions will slowly turn from "WoW SL had a much sought after FOMO timed just to fudge up Endwalker" to "Endwalker is timed just to fudge up Mage Tower's return".

And yet, had they done so then the reverse would be happening. People would be complaining about not being solid in their planning and it being too close to make vacation plans had the original release held. Damned if they do damned if they don't situation.

Generally for a lot of jobs, it is much easier to request time off/rearrange time off with MORE advance notice versus less—it gives your department more advance notice to find someone to cover your position (if you are in a position that needs covering). So I don’t really understand what you’re trying to say here?
