Cyberpunk 2077 actually ran fine on my PC at launch. I encountered a couple broken quest triggers and a few places where it was possible to fall through the map but otherwise nothing noteworthy. I had almost no issues at all with Fallout 76 as well.
Looking back at when previous expansions launched. HW launched in June 2015, SB in June 2017, ShB in July 2019. Having Endwalker launch in Nov was most likely already a push back due to the pandemic since the previous expansions all dropped in the summer. A last minute 2 week push back during that time of the year would likely have had almost no really care. The problem with this announcement is the time of year it fell on because it's typically the hardest time of the year to schedule time off to begin with between people wanting family time and others trying to use their time off before they lose it when the year ends.
The Twitch stream was repeating "A smile better suits a producer"
I'm sorry because there is absolutely no way they weren't aware making their deadline was going to be difficult before the last possible second. Instead of communicating this possibility so people could hold off scheduling days off, or taking the conservative route and announcing the delay much earlier, they waited.

I will preface this by saying that I do not blame Yoshida. He is the messenger here—and I know that he has his own chain of command that he has to follow when it comes to executive decisions. However, I will say this:
When you are aware of a recent history of server instability, why would you wait until three weeks prior to the expansion release to start doing QA on server stability? Why wouldn’t you have moved that up a bit more when you had the knowledge that the servers have been dying for several weeks now? I get that Yoshida said he wanted to fine tune—I appreciate his admission for that. But if a huge issue was server stability and their worries about it remaining stable during Early Access and launch…why wait to start QA? Was there absolutely no way to do it sooner? To start it a month prior to release? Was this the only time to start it? I have so many grievances right now…
I had requested time off for Early Access. I don’t know if I can get it moved now since it’s so soon. The original release was so ideal because it was the start of a new period at my job, where our workload is the lightest. A two week delay pushes it into the end of the third week—and the fourth is when we close out for the period. We only have 3.5 days to finish up everything, and maybe that doesn’t seem like such a tight window for many, but with the new systems they installed and the dumpster fire they have turned the accounts into, it is a lot more of a mess than it normally would be. With all those things in consideration, I don’t know if I’ll be able to shift my time off. And taking off the Monday will likely be completely out of the question with it falling on a period close week…
This is just such a shame. With sooner notice, I could have maybe finagled something with my boss and coworkers—gotten someone to take care of my accounts that closing Monday… but now I don’t know. I’ll just have to talk to my boss and see if I can push the days back. Maybe all the OT I’ve been working will work in my favor. But if it doesn’t, I won’t smile and lie to hide my disappointment.

How about those of us that used vacation time and have to see if we can move it >. A heads up would of been nice 2 weeks is sort of close
I've seen delays in stuff at big companies come down the pipe literally days before they are scheduled to go live. It happens constantly at my work. Maybe they thought they could get it done in time, but last minute issues kept that from happening.I'm sorry because there is absolutely no way they weren't aware making their deadline was going to be difficult before the last possible second. Instead of communicating this possibility so people could hold off scheduling days off, or taking the conservative route and announcing the delay much earlier, they waited.
It always amazes me how much people expect omniscience from developers.
Personally, and this is not directed at you, I find it amusing the usual complainers are complaining.
Honestly, I'll never understand people who do this, i.e. arrange for vacation days, then get upset when there's a a delay and then get upset at the SW producer because they can't reschedule. I do sympathize to an extant, however while I understand that SE has a very good reputation for sticking to schedules - schedules are never a guarantee .Anything can go wrong. there are plenty of examples in SW where someone insisted on a release date and in the end the customer suffered more, rather than someone putting their foot down and saying that an issue was discovered and the delivery should be delayed.

And yet, had they done so then the reverse would be happening. People would be complaining about not being solid in their planning and it being too close to make vacation plans had the original release held. Damned if they do damned if they don't situation.I'm sorry because there is absolutely no way they weren't aware making their deadline was going to be difficult before the last possible second. Honestly, as long as we don't end up with Raubahn Extreme II the electric boogaloo, I'm okay with a two week delay. And now I can focus playing Pokemon in the next couple weeks instead lol
