I think the only reason why people are defending these changes is because it's FF.

I meant the players here from the FF community would be memeing on the FF reddit about the other company going overboard with uneccesary changes to try and look good after the controversies. Like they have been doing with the changes to starter armor, or the removal of jokes and puns.

If the other company does it is overboard, if FF does it it's good and ok.

I feel like you might be pissed at your migrating guys here. Sounds like you'd have to follow and have some knowledge of what's going on with wow to go out of your way to make these jokes. I can only speak for myself, but FF being the only mmo I'm interested in, I have zero idea nor interest with what's happening with wow or what blizzard's up to for that matter.

As I said, this is being done in the FF reddit. One does not have to have knowledge of WoW to go there and read the memes being made. The changes being down over in WoW are similar in nature to these changes, yet WoW bad FF good.

the "they" you highlighted was referring to the people that are defending the changes in this thread. I even clarified that in my next post when another poster got confused.

nope. I have been at this dance with WoW years ago when they made changes to reporting etc, and there was as much needless alarmism and fear mongering there by the same people screaming about free speech and how they will be innundated with reports and needless bans of the innocents

I'll give you three guesses as to what actually happened and the first two dont count.

yup... nothing. the system stayed in place and there werent thousands of banned innocent players

the back and forth amounted to little more than wasted forum space... much the same as here.

the people who will get banned, would have been banned before. the people who werent before, still wont be. life will go on.

its not defense because its FF, its defense because its alarmism, fear mongering and much ado about nothing ... plain and simple

These changes aren't even anywhere NEAR meme worthy, even if Blizzard was in a better spot, so why would they? If there's any meme material to be had, it's the result of the players creating artificial smoke and screaming that there's a fire and somethingsomething tyranny because reasons. I'd love to see some of those memes.
