They must be terrified of their supposedly 'best most kindest playerbase evurrrr'.Damn, dictator SE released new laws to follow, only happy emotions allowed or get banned. Free speech where?
Really love getting reported by random players who take something out of context or are unable or unwilling to comprehend an obvious joke, easier than ever now with these rules. And poor Gamemasters who have to enforce these rules now, instead of being able to take care of actual cheaters, botters and griefers.
Square has never done anything about the botters and probably never will unfortunately. Their priority is making sure we all sugarcoat everything in chat so nobody feels bad about themselves ever.Damn, dictator SE released new laws to follow, only happy emotions allowed or get banned. Nothing says you need to carry anyone. If the duty is going badly, the party can still vote to Abandon. If the rest of the party does not wish to abandon, you can still leave. There's no punishment for doing that unless you're making it a habit out of leaving.
What you can't do is behave uncivilly toward a specific player you feel is causing the party issues.
Free speech is not what people like to assume.
If you want to discuss politics/religion/etc., discuss it in places created for such discussion. FFXIV is not that place.
I actually love the changes.
1. Party finder isn't a giant billboard anymore.
2. As someone who recently got rid of their chatbox because other players were getting me to the point I wanted to literally throw my keyboard, attacked left and right (and I am one to get defensive if singled out). The fact I can now report them I find a godsend.
For example, wanted dyable omega pants. Joined a LEARNING party. Made some mistakes, but was learning and picking it up. Made a mistake I'd learned passed, but because I didn't see the person on my tether fast enough from clutter it ended in them telling me "Nekaru you're not cut out for this, you keep making simple mistakes' and me calling them an elitist dog and pointing out that if one does not get the chance, how do they GET cut out for it?
So yes. I love that I can now report people like that. Maybe I'll put my chatbox back on the HUD now ... maybe. It's been super peaceful without.
I don't see how identifying the problem and communicating it to the group is "behaving uncivilly toward a specific player." If someone is consistently holding the group back then it should be addressed. This is Square directly enforcing an unhealthy and unhelpful party dynamic.Nothing says you need to carry anyone. The overexaggerating in this thread is comedic.
Just don't be uncivilised, I'm not sure why this is such a difficult concept to grasp.
Now can we do something about raise macros and prohibit some?
I've seen some that make me want to smack them or ragequit.
"Haha you're dead," "your parents didn't raise you so I will," and "you're not a corpse you're a hero now rise MY PET and fight" are NOT cute, they're annoying, obnoxious and are LITERALLY calling the person out for dying.
Just say 'raising so and so' god. Please Square ban these next.
Name Meaning:
Nekaru = Neko + Hikaru
Infitima = Infinity + Ultima
So, legitimately curious. If they had just kicked you without saying a word, you would have been ok with that? Because based on what I'm reading and understanding, it seems as long as you don't say anything, you are fine to kick if you want. I get the DF is one thing, but I feel like exceptions should be made for PF, because you are actively choosing the group to participate in. If I'm in a farm party, it sounds like my options for dealing with someone who keeps messing up is to either:I actually love the changes.

A.) "It seems like some people need to practice more. I suggest possibly joining a learning group to get more comfortable", and then removing them, or just go
B.) Kick them without saying a word, and thus means I can't be reported, because I don't have to give a reason for removing someone from the PF group.
Oh look, someone else who doesn't understand what 'free speech' actually means.Damn, dictator SE released new laws to follow, only happy emotions allowed or get banned. Free speech where?
