Are some jobs 'too feminine' in aesthetics?

Basch was actually planned as the main character in FFXII and arguably remained as such even after Vaan was switched in as the 'point of view' character for most of the story. If we're being generous, then Basch, Ashe and Balthier have the most importance in the story and serve as the most important cast members on the side of the player characters.

Still doesn't change the fact we have far more male protag outfits than female. At least double, if not more.

We have.. Lightning, Yuna, Fran (racial only), penello, and agrias, and that's it for female protagonists from the FF series.

Males we have cloud, squall, WoL, dude from 9, tidus, basche, vaan, balthier, gabranth, snow, and probably others I'm missing.

This is why I don't engage with you. You only use things that fit your narrative.

Wow, because I disagree with you on a discussion forum you became snarky. Okay I think you are wrong saying they are detached from the player base. The games popularity begs to differ with you.

You can say you want more manly hairstyles but to call the devs detached from the player base is over reach.

Its popularity would also suggest then that there are no problems with healers. Yet there are plenty who disagree. Point being? The game being popular does not mean the devs are 1) not detached in some respects or 2) that every aspect is perfect.

I'd say that is balanced out by the vast majority of new hairstyles being designed with feminine or androgynous aesthetics in mind. In a way that somehow manages to be considered 'too long' on the majority of male character models but also 'too short' on the majority of female character models.

Considering how much you seem to stalk my character, you’d probably know i don’t permanently wear this. If you must know, this is my healer outfit, because due to the lack of masculine healer outfits i have to try and make due elsewhere. I’d rather you not comment on my outfit however, seeing as how it has nothing to do with this conversation.

And I was in this discussion before you came along to repeat your regular complaints.

Anyway it's up to you if you're so certain that there's nothing but feminine healer gear that you think you're forced to wear it. I haven't noticed the same issue for my characters.

Ether way my point is sadly casters and especially healers are known as a "girly" role in rpg's in general its just how its pretty much always has been even with some great male casters in fantasy media.
Tho at least in ffxiv there are quite a few none dress options at least.

As for healing spells / animation being girly is probably more a case of in history not just in rpg's when people have described healing magics.
They are ether white or green and color and if they are more then just the color the tend to have ties to nature with flowers showing growth and death / rebirth / recovery just things that nature dose naturally.
