Thank you. This is getting stale and repetitive.

Exactly. I feel people demand way too much of mentors, and then they cry "BAD MENTOR!" when the person doesn't comply with their idea of what a mentor should do. For example, a mentor may have WHM as their level 80 healer, but they don't play AST. How on earth are they supposed to "teach" this job to another person? Mentors shouldn't be expected to be a walking encyclopedia of FF14. They're not paid for anything, so they should only be expected to supply whatever help they're capable of without necessarily going out of their way to "learn" stuff they're not interested in just so that they can "teach" it to a person who couldn't be bothered to make the tiniest of efforts.

People should put in the effort and mentors shouldn't be required to pick up the slack of lazy people. Sure, mentors can give advice and tips or point you to guides if they know any, but by no means should they be required to "teach" stuff. There are guides for this, and they do an excellent job at explaining and teaching.

I never said casuals were bad. It's just what you are saying will not help with people that don't know how or refuse to play correctly, despite leveling everything. Labeling people that by and large are not an issue and nerfing their queues won't help.

I dont think level skipping is the issue. The issue are people who refuse to improve and refuse to respect the time of the people they get queued up with. If you are willing to put in the effort you can do so when leveling a job from 0 or from starting at 70.

The people who can't be bothered to learn their job after buying a skip are the same people who can't be bothered to learn their jobs leveling from Lv1. If people care to play their jobs well, they will do it regardless of whether they skip or level the long way. Skips are not the problem.

Maybe a Hall of the Novice type of thing at 70 which is optional for others but compulsory for boostees, where you get a recap pretty much of the markers and such?

And? Did I state otherwise? I simply stated many were mentors.

This is why they need to have a better selection process for mentors.

So as others have pointed out. Mentors are not the answer. They already get loads of crap for things everyone thinks they should do.

The main thing I find hilarious in this is that people say mentors are terrible but yet you want to add more responsibilities to them to improve the game? That's some logic there.

Well, you're free to talk with these 'boosters' and share some of your knowledge, no?

I know everyone wants to be finished with a dungeon/whatever asap but...

Don't ignore the social component of an mmorpg. It's fine to be bad, it's fine to be a nurd. There's common ground for all of us!

Sooooo, if you really can't handle it. You're free to leave or start a kick vote right? I think both of these are the wrong decision but that's me!

You're free to do whichever ^^

Have a heart for newbs, be they boosted or not!

you shouldn't have to explain the simplest mechanics and teach them their job at that level....
