Put my game in japanese so fast. That got old real fast.

That may be true but people who use "like" that much makes the back of my brain think a certain way and I can't always place it.
Native English speaker or not.

The problem ISN'T healers rotation is busted or boring...
As a native English speaker I disliked reading most of Limsa related stuff, at least back when it was more prominently pirate speak. Hearing accents is wonderful, reading thick accents is... less fun.
That said I don't make that comment as a desire to remove anything, just wanted to chime in lol. If the game was voiced, at least far more than it is, I'd be overjoyed at the attention to accent work in the text.
Urianger doesn't actually bother me but maybe that's just being used to how a lot of classic jRPGs love to use a sort of old English sense to characters.
Most people missed out on the verbose lala that was our path companion in 1.0 but that one may have been a fun one for people lol.
The only character that gets confusing for me sometimes is Jacke from the rogues' guild. His constant shifting between thieves' cant, Cockney slang, and random sprinklings of Italian is....weird.
English is my third language, I got no problem with it.
Side note: Urianger doesn't speak english. He speaks something sorta like Shakespearean.
Because those aren't the same. Quintessential means the perfect example of something. Essential means something is necessary.
The first word that came into my mind that i can give an example of this is quintessential. And this word isn't even bad compared to all the other words that they are choosing to use where they could have easily pick lot more simpler words. Like what is the point of making characters say quintessential where you could have easily said essential.
To the main topic, Urianger's speech is intentionally calling back to old English and the general setting is a setting where similar speech is the norm. A lot of people besides him say "wont", for instance.
This, all day. Baderon and Jacke are way worse than Urianger.

As much as Urianger is a meme character, what I really struggled with and still do as non-native English speaker is Limsa Lominsa's dialect. The way these folks speak still breaks my brain up to this day to the point where I swap to Japanese interface because I understand them there better despite knowing Japanese on a far lower lever compared to my English...
With that being said, I don't think any of this should be changed. People in real life don't speak the same everywhere, even in English. Why characters in the game should? It a huge world with many nations, it's only natural that they speak differently depending on where they are from or depending on their personality (like in case with Urianger). Having them all speaking the same would tone down the deepness of world-building.
The problem with Limsa's pirate speak is exactly that.. it sounds great listening to such dialogue (is any of it voiced in XIV?), but it's horrible to have to read.As much as Urianger is a meme character, what I really struggled with and still do as non-native English speaker is Limsa Lominsa's dialect. I too have no real issue with Urianger speak or general use of more classical and older words. Yet I groan whenever I have to deal with characters in Limsa that I know will use pirate speak.
