I mean, I paid about 50 bucks to take my family out to dinner the other day. Like a nothing special “Bleegh it’s Friday night and nobody wants to cook” kinda dinner. It was fine, but I really coulda just rolled up my sleeves and friggin cooked something for a fraction of that price. And the enjoyment we got out of it was only about an hour or so.

I could easily spend just as much to get that 8 man mount that I would absolutely enjoy using for at least the next 2 years with Endwalker.

All just a matter of perspective. If it looks expensive to you, we’ll, it probably is..and you probably don’t really need it.

I'm with you though, these prices seem reasonable for what they are. I understand that it's not for everyone, but $20 for a permanent item is a lot less than what I pay for things in other hobbies.

ALL OPTIONAL! ALL SQUENX! FFXIV devs actually have little to no say on shop, not to mention they're straight up contracted with some Korea and Chinese companies to put out new glam, mounts, and such on the regular. Also stos shop was horrible $30-100 for some iconic or newly designed ships, vaguely remember having to buy stuff from shop to even upgrade ships...

Expensive being very subjective.

The market accepts and supports.. the pricing continues.

Compare any of that to pricing of things someone might pay for daily such as gas.. or a snack, or even something someone might buy that they didn't need to like a shot of liquor on a weekend out, or watching ONE showing of a movie.

Or, I dunno, there are other things we'd rather spend our money on? I could easily buy everything on the store without blinking an eye, and I'm not even that wealthy, but that doesn't mean that I think an in game mount is worth $30.
