nothing that npc does will wash away his sins since he could heroically sacrifice him self but that don't redeem him from being a terrible human being and hien has shown him self to be a terrible leader too to likely to repeat the sins of the past and create another tyrant of doma that will finally off him maybe Gosetsu can reform doma after hien is killed and create a better nation

Ironic considering this is the game that constantly pushes the message of it’s never too late to repent for your sins. I disagree, and i think the fact he was actually willing to risk his life for his country is pretty admirable, and helps a lot in starting to repent for what he did. Don’t see how Hien is a terrible leader really. He did what he had to, to save his country. He’s at least a bit better than most of the city state leaders and they’re still around.

Really surprised at the lack of Y'shtola and her holier than thou, I am better than all of you combined, attitude.

To be fair Nanamo TRIED to change things in ul'dah but you remember what happened with that right? She controls nothing. I can't say anything towards the other two but they did watch the blood bath and simply left. Man lost his arm and they just flat out dipped out. lol. " Fuck that shit I'm out" like. Hien needs to get more shit thrown at him instead of Lyse. At least Lyse has the excuse of trying and learning and not to mention she's completely new to any kindof leadership. Hien sat on his ass until we fought for him to get him in power. And remember he wouldn't have done anything if it wasn't for us. If we never came there he'll STILL be on that hill waiting for his people to make a choice. A choice they never would've made if again we weren't there to fix his crap. Not to mention he should've been able to say what that guy did. If that NPC really wanted to repent he should've did more then just randomly help out Doma. Get some jail time, find the victims and fix their lives, something other than hide behind Hien anyway.

Alphinaud. Really find him fatiguing, I hope if they do kill him off it doesn't end up causing a treadmill of "what would alphinaud do/say/think", "Oh if only alphinaud was here", "this reminds me of alphinaud" sort of plot device nonsense to add pointless zero resolvable and zero development drama moments as the character is gone.

People seem to love him though.

If I had a second choice, I hope they pre-emptively kill off any antagonist they plan on doing the stupid set piece fights that you auto-lose regardless of how the fight goes because the enemy used their super secret attack that could simply be called 'I win because plot' to show 'this is a real bad guy right here' until 5 levels of zero in world hero power development now you win because their plot armour fell off (*cough* Zenos and Ranjit - I enjoyed the really terrible writing where Ranjit just appeared through a side door in the temple in Raktika, it was very much like missiles out of nowhere in the film Aquaman - *cough*).

I really really dislike Zenos and want to destroy him in a proper final battle so he stays dead this time. He is so boring and one dimensional, every time I see him it’s like… really?! This guy… AGAIN!?

Fandaniel though, he is so annoying in everything he does. I’d deal with him the same way Indiana Jones dealt with the sword guy. Quick glance, nope moment, blast him and move on to the fight with Zenos.

So…risking your life and fighting for your country is randomly helping? Okay… As for Hien, it’s his knowledge that got us anywhere in the liberation. Dunno if you forgot that or what. That isn’t really much of an argument though when you can say the same for quite literally every single city state leader in the game. They were horrible and the cities were horrible until we came and they pointed us around like a loaded gun. In the case of Aymeric he was just shady and scummy. Hien really doesn’t have many problems compared to them. He enlisted our help, we enlisted his etc etc. Hell, he even came to Bozja’s aid. Don’t see the other city states helping with that

You still haven't addressed the fact he wouldn't have done any of that if it were not for us. I also didn't defend the other leaders as I agree they are just as bad. Him risking his ( the NPC ) means nothing to me when the victims he's sold into the sex trade are STILL being used btw. So yeah.. no he didn't repent for anything. He did NOTHING to help those victims who are either dead or sold off somewhere. He was just feeling guilty for his past crimes. Tho if it were me he'll be in JAIL. The fact that Hien didn't even mention that speaks volumes.

Zenos. He would have been underwhelming but inoffensive enough if left dead in 4.0 but he came back with nothing new or interesting character wise, even wasting what could have been an interesting chance to develop his character during his quest to reclaim his body.

Not every villain needs to be sympathetic, have a noble goal but going about it the wrong way, or have a sob story in their background etc. But Zenos just doesn't have anything to offer me. He's not a deep or compelling character in terms of motivation, he's not entertaining in a campy evil way, he doesn't feel legitimately threatening in the story for me. I hope 6.0 makes good use of him but I'm not holding my breath.

In terms of non antagonists, maybe Merywyb. The whole kobold fight thing when helping Limsa repair relations with the Kobolds felt so forced like they wanted to make a showing of having her make a sacrifice to atone for past misdeeds, but in a generic empty way and not having her actually lose anything in doing so. It felt like a forced easy 'redemption' so they could sweep it all under the rug and move on.
