Oh I forgot a favorite moment.

It's not a moment so much as the pure himboness of the 60-70 Ninja questline. Oboro and Jack at some point show up in their skivvies after something goes wrong and I giggled for a week. He really went from cool mysterious Shinobi to "How does this man function."

I hate to be like "It's WoW players!"... But the FFXIV Community was surprisingly non homophobic until the surge in WoW players so... Call me a tinfoil hat, but I feel like we're getting a few of those trolls.

Have to disagree on that one there was always homophobic people around in the FFXIV community, I have come across multiple in my time playing since ARR, didn't even take much to provoke it, one was literally me wearing the recently released Shiva inspired healer chest piece and daring to actually like wearing it, it lead to my worst dungeon experience I have ever had in FFXIV nothing since has been that bad.

I reported ofc but that experience is still something I don't wanna see happen again. My only forum ban was because I swore at someone who was being openly homophobic.

This community has always had toxic elements in it, all types of toxic elements at that, the surge from wow players would have bolstered both the toxic side of the community but also the good side of the community and that is a good thing as more people who don't let that toxic element get away with stuff the better.

Now for my funniest moment "Stupid Sexy Roedygyn" makes me smile every time due to the reference XD

It's the weekend, so the moderators usually aren't around as often. Just report the sad little child trying to be edgy, and it'll likely be taken care of by tomorrow once the work week resumes.


To contribute though: Honestly, Nanamo's expression during the "...pardon?" scene in our last patch probably made me laugh the hardest I have in a long while when it comes to XIV.

Kinda sad we literally can’t go a day without someone trying to pin the blame on WoW players… It’s always been prevalent in the 14 community. It ain’t the perfect rainbow sunshine place people talk it up to be. This ain’t the WoW invaders doing this lmao.

You right. I heavily curate my circles so I guess I've just been lucky enough to avoid that particular crowd and haven't noticed it on the forums. Which I, don't often visit so maybe that's why.

This type of mess is something I've noticed heavily on the WoW forums pretty much every day so I'm just. Tired.

But I also never pretended or stated this game is some weird haven. I've encountered plenty of nasty pills in the community, but the nastiness in ffxiv I've experienced is... different? To keep it vague.

Seems like there should be a ban on speaking about sexuality (all aspects including strait/lgbtq/etc) on gaming forums. There's very little constructive to discuss on the forums about it, and there is a lot of conflict that can come from it.

While i agree, it’s kind of hard considering the game itself does tend to talk about such things.

For me a favorite funny moment, Greg's feet sticking out of the wall in Ul'Dah after he tries to take on Julyan Manderville. (I seriously hope she's the final raid boss of the game. Would be too perfect)
