Would have preferred it to be a reward that you earn, but it's not the end of the world.

I'm fine with store mounts. But this one feels wrong just like Chocobo Carriage. Both of does should have been in Gold Saucer for 5M MGP or more. Does beloved design a lot nostalgic to older players. Any other stuff in store no problem. But we asked for this for years... we didn't get it. But to late now anyway but still sad and dispointing.
We literally ride on it in the fight and it’s literally ridable in rival wings. Like…try again.Sure but it still takes time and resources to do, something they most likely aren't going to spend on making a mount especially during crunch time before an expansion is due out. Its not like they take the assets and slap a line of code to it and be like okay people can use it as a mount now.
The main issue is how iconic it is to the FFXIV lore, same goes to a lesser extent to the Odin mount and the Chocobo carriage. If you want to put in random panda's random birds, carbuncle mounts, random whales, by all means, be my guest. But I ask that you not take stuff from in the game, things that make up the game, and slap a price tag on them.
Side note, with all the new players I think this was a real missed opportunity to make it a mount that both newer and veteran players can work towards to bring them together.
you know your character isn't on the version in rival wings?
saying cruise chaser was "mostly done" also means all the models in this game are also closely done to becoming mounts but i don't see a ride-able zenos or Thancred anytime soon
I mean, that's how it works for apple, nintendo, sony or ms for example, so why wouldn't it work for squeenix?
also, whoever said 30$ isn't a lot of money to what ultimately amounts to a few pixels on the screen, should re-evaluate their lives if money is of so little value to them, and I sincerely hope these people will never endure financial hardships in their life
oh wait, I do

What even is this argument. Why would we get zenos or thancred mounts. The point is cruise chaser was mined for awhile as done. They easily could’ve made it an mgp reward. None of what you said changes the fact it’s an in game mount already with animations. It not like the other mounts where they had no in game model.
Gonna quote myself here from a few pages back:
In the past, I've participated in discussions about the Mog Station. This is why I didn't want this to be a Mogstation evil thread - because that's another very messy can of worms.
I came from the era before WoW had a cash shop, like quite a number of people here. You bought the game and subscription and that was it.
Ideally for me, in a MMO where you b2p and pay a subscription, there should be no cash shop. Everything should be earnable in-game.
However, I've seen the arguments that MMO costs have gone up and partially accepted that the cash shop is a necessary evil. I'm fine with the cash shop selling things like the whale/peacock mount etc
The Cruise Chaser however is different. As others have pointed out, it's reusing in-game assets and could have been tied into in-game content.
Is this a slippery slope, where we see more in-game assets re-used in the cash shop in the future?
Maybe or maybe not.
I've come to partially accept that the cash shop is necessary with rising MMO costs.
Which is why I didn't put foward a discussion about the Mog Station as a whole.
However, with the Cruise Chaser mount - it's not something exclusively created for the Mog Station.
It's re-using in-game assets and something that could have been tied to in-game content.
