I'll never understand this mindset. Why should we force players who have no vested interest in Savage content into it simply to experience the story? They cater towards two entirely different demographics. Furthermore, this wouldn't incentivize players any more than Delubrum Reginae does. When players whose interest don't match the content they're being forced into, they'll do the barest of minimums to get through it so they can actually reach their objective. All locking story behind Savage does is make PF worse. Not to mention they can just go to youtube and watch the story. My biggest wish is higher skill ceiling gameplay with skill based gatekeeping for endgame stuff, thus incentivizing players to improve in order to experience the entire story. This would create moments of accomplishment and pride similar to 2.x coils, and has yet to be matched. I know this won't happen, but I wish it did. Runner up would be savage raids that actually had a big map and checkpoints, maybe dynamic encounters between bosses. Not just trash, but interesting team focused puzzles or something. Third runner up would be in-game help for newbies. Example maybe the game notices the tank body pulled so a moogle pops up that says "maybe try tomahawk, kupo!" What's yours?
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
Or just expand on the Trust System.
I'd like to see them expand it to the whole story and then increase the difficulty of dungeons etc.
I kinda don't like how it feels sometimes like content connected to the story is made to be beatable while asleep.
And we still get complaints on here from people that can't clear the solo duty content because even by the time they've gotten to the end of shadowbringers they haven't figured out they shouldn't stand in the giant glowing spot on the floor when the enemy stops to charge an attack. (Though to be fair if you do those as a tank it feels like the only way to fail is to fall asleep and have the timer run out because stuff don't really seem to do any noticeable damage to you even if you do stand in the poo lol.)
I guess a wish would be to have them no longer nerf duties to make them easier when people complain on here about not being able to clear it. Most of these tend to be duties with a number of basic game mechanics in them to follow and less about gear and ilvl.
Alot of the story duties at the launch of the later expansions feel like they were designed just to be like a review or refresher of game mechanics. A design I actually am fine with as I'm sure alot of people hitting that content when it drops probably haven't played the game in a long time and came back the check out the new story.
House four everyone
Make like it is right now but have instanced house for those who cant secure a plot, being instanced i woulnt be as limited
More cross character stuff
Like a bank, shared glamour dresser, etc
Player home shared automatically with all characters you have on that same world and a special shared vault that all your characters on a given world have access to. They give us multiple character slots but lack of things like that makes it feel like they don't want you to use them. I don't even recall an easy way to mail things to your alts unless they changed that at some point.
I also want more fluffy/cute gear and outfits that aren't parts of a mascot costume.
And... toilets because my poor character has been holding it for years!!!!
I actually like this idea. I realize it's not a simple task for them to go back and remake every single dungeon and trial to be Trust compatible. But, in this pair of cases, it would actually be a really good use of resources. The way they are right now doesn't really work for or please anyone except those wanting to get XP for basically sleeping at their keyboard for 45 minutes.
The thing is, that usually they can stand in the giant glowing spot on the floor. And we still get complaints on here from people that can't clear the solo duty content because even by the time they've gotten to the end of shadowbringers they haven't figured out they shouldn't stand in the giant glowing spot on the floor when the enemy stops to charge an attack. What bothers me about this the most is that it makes me feel like a complete idiot for actually doing the mechanics.
In Doma Castle recently for example the BLM that got the bomb mark every time didn't move an inch and was up in melee range, I was literally the *only* person that moved away.
What happened?
People took like 60% of their health or something and the healer just healed everyone up instantly.
Like I was just standing there in the corner by myself trying to actually do the mechanic and no one else did anything, and I was the one made to feel like a moron.
A lot of the mechanics are simply too forgiving, they either barely deal any damage or they don't deal enough to be a genuine threat worth thinking about.
When you feel like an idiot for actually doing the mechanics there is something wrong.
There are exceptions to this, but they're rare.
I would like to see more work done for FC's. It's amazing how neglected they've been, especially anyone who has a FC lead position will realize just how limited they are. It's 2021 and there isn't even a way to see what date a member joined your FC, since the activity tab gets flooded too fast. I'd like to see:
-In game Event Calendars. I have no idea why this isn't a thing yet.
-The ability to limit how many stacks/items a member may withdraw from the Company Chest. Giving members access to either nothing whatsoever or the entire tab is a crazy system.
-A Gil withdrawal limit. So if an officer gets hacked or does a runner and they had access, they can't empty the entire bank.
-The ability to view Date Joined for promotions and such.
-Airships/Subs being less worthless. They're often a lot of work for a pittance in low value materials. They've also been giving away the rare minions like candy within a patch or two, why bother working for Shark minions and Abroader Otters when they'll just be bunged into the next lockbox and crash to 10-20k.
-A Weekly FC log with rewards for completing X amount of dungeons, raids, ect in an FC group. Give FC members a reason to group together.
-Perhaps even a Mount for completing all raids and trials in an expansion on EX/Savage and synched (Echo allowed so nothing insane but makes a nice FC project).
I know there's the whole "but players will feel forced into an FC for x reason!" nonsense, but it's a social MMO. FC's should be encouraged.
