Absolutely. Tough, beastial females have such a lack of show in media. They would be an awesome addition, especially since female Ronso already exist.

Lack of show? Not really. She-Hulk, Captain Marvel, Storm, Rogue, Lagatha, Minerva, Maleficient, Teela, She-Ra, Jessica Jones....they're perfectly represented and in plenty of medias.


Though with that said, I'm good, I don't want a female Ronso or Male Viera, lore is important, lest we have Pandarens walking around.

I always laugh when people bring in lore about this. The lore states they are incredibly rare. Assume this is a single player game. In the story, you are one of those rare amount. You may be the only male Viera or female Hrothgar many of these NPCs will ever meet. This game's lore goes with the assumption that you are in a single player game, and thus your playable character is the only one that matters. No lore has been broken, at all.

I always thought the assumptions were that you are the warrior of light while all the other players are simply normal adventurer.
And if I would go by my assumptions then other adventurers are still present and therefor their player race matters as they are part of the world.

Technically. Compared to the WoL the rest party are considered just normal adventurers, but they all are supposed to have the echo to some degree. Otherwise sending them to fight primals would be a bit of a suicide mission. That being said, you are right that they are considered part of your world, so having multiples of a "rare" race running around would be lorebreaking.

Its really not, the issue is people just dont like it because they want unlimited freedom and more options. They will just sit there and ask "Why?" and will never accept it.
And unless the Race/Species is written to be one type of gender, there isnt a good track record of anyone explaining why we cant have both genders available.

Male Viera are a special case, because lore WOULD explain their absence.....but its ignored and discarded because of Male Miqote in FFXIV. Plus this is an FFXIV world, and not isolated to Ivalice.

That was the point I was trying to make in regards to the posters above me saying rare races being playable is lorebreaking because players are in cutscenes. An entire DC could go male viera or fem hrothgar and it wouldn't change the lore any because lore doesn't really apply to other players, only npcs :P
