Perhaps it's more like this: You go into a restaurant and try out their free breadsticks. You like them, so you order and pay for a meal. But then in the middle of eating your meal, you decided the meal it's not worth your pay and ask the chef to turn the meal into the free breadsticks, which they can't do.
