Did I or did I not just almost completely screw over a boss fate because I forgot to swap classes? Yes. Yes I did.

Yes yes… Just remove more of healers’ toolkit. Their mere job is just to heal and go merry way without anything else to do while pressing 1-2 button endlessly.Drama like this is why I wish they'd remove Rescue from the game. Most people just use it for griefing. Or at the very least give us the ability to turn off the effects in options. I can't count the number of times I've seen a healer drag off some DPS into the depths of the abyss because "xD so funni guise so random you died haha" or just to be spiteful.
Nevermind the fun; ‘most’? I’ve seen them used more appropriately than not. And that is without accounting the amount of healers I’ve encountered that simply do not use it because either they do not know the skill exist nor even bother to rescue because apparently when they rescue a player who’s practically doomed to kiss to floor with or without rescue, the whole blame suddenly shifts to the healer due to how their corpse flings across the arena—making it looked like a misused Rescue. I’ve been blamed for this a few times out of genuine intent to pull them out of certain death because ”I just have to try”-way of thinking. Nowadays if I know a mech will kill off a player & nothing will save them, I’ll just leave them to die a few secs to raise them after or worse, just fire away at boss if they’re near death.
The only time I actually rescue another player to abyss is to force a restart in the point where everything are pretty much unsalvageable (only myself and 1 tryhard DPS left alive while 6 other dead).
Spiteful & troll rescue are pretty rare, at least to me. I’m not counting those who do this to their friends for giggles though.
Spiteful and troll rescue are the only purposes of it.
There's a similar spell in wow and the number of times it's been used on me to save me vs troll me is so low that they might as well remove it.
Same thing happens here. I've yet to see it used in a non troll manner. Hell, saw one healer break limit break casts with it. For funzies.
-_-
Recuse is meant to be used as a tank leash.

First time actually posting on here and using the forum, but I've tracking this thread for awhile and I have my own stories to share.
The Great Hunt (EX)
I wanted to farm out the last 5 scales I needed from Rathalos on my alt, a level 74 NIN. Last night groups were great, and were pretty chill, and everyone else got the amount of scales they needed before they got too tired to continue. Woke up and decided, hey let's farm those last 5 out and it'll be completely fine. Got on party finder, set up a group unsynced and specifically ticked the "Beginner/First-Time" button, just in case any other players who hadn't yet maxed out their characters could join as well like I usually do with every single party finder group I put up. The party fills up quickly, with a level 80 MCH, level 73 SAM, and a mentor level 80 DRK. The instance goes over fine enough, I got stunned locked by Rathalos and died only once, but the clear wraps up in about 4 minutes. The DRK mentor proceeds to say "Oh, didn't realize everyone wasn't maxed. Tanks should not be doing more damage than the DPS" and then promptly leaves the party, causing everyone else to leave the party as well.
..Why join a party finder that specially has the sprout icon ticked then, if you want a full party of level 80's? In fact, if you want a full party of max leveled players, by all means make your own party finder and specify that. I'm not too angry about the situation, just incredibly annoyed since this isn't the only annoying mentor that I've had the displeasure of coming across. It's getting to the point that every time I see someone with a Burger King crown I just get a sour taste in my mouth and automatically want to avoid them. Probably gonna stick with doing mount farms at night from now on.
Mt. Gulg
This one happened a few months ago on my main, Hawu. Queued into Mt. Gulg as a GNB with a WHM, a DNC, and a SAM. I immediately go to pull big, since it's literally a nearly max level dungeon and start going through my AoEs as well as my cooldowns. Realize my health is dropping fast and realize that the WHM is only using Cure 1... over and over and over again. Somehow I don't die during the first pull, and I ask the WHM to use their lilies or even Asylum, or a regen... anything at all with the full toolkit. All I get in response was "Please pull smaller." When I saw that, I immediately felt the urge to drop... but since the DNC was new to the instance I didn't just want to bail since I know the DPS queues are horrid and I didn't want another tank to just come in and drop as well. So, I sucked it up and continued on, single pulling (much to my annoyance) as the WHM proceeded to spam Cure 1 instead of anything else. The dungeon took nearly an hour as a result, with the SAM getting dc'd toward the end, and the DNC dying due to the WHM refusing to heal them... it was a nightmare of a run that I won't soon forget.
I've had a few genuinely good Rescues, but I think my favourite was recently when a healer kept yanking me around randomly during Tam-Tara HM and later realizing it might have been because she thought Garuda's AOE was dangerous.
I really wish there was some ingame indicator that Slipstream, Doton and Salted Earth are friendly. (Also the healing bubbles but those are obvious, right? ... Right? No? Check the thread? Oh.....)
As for good uses, it's useful in harder content when someone can't make a stack or pair mechanic in time. Pretty niche overall. I don't see it abused much, but that's more my luck than anything probably.
Personally I think Rescue should be given to me, and only me, as I am the only one who can be trusted,

While we're at it, lets get rid of third eye on SAM and the two skills it relates to. I see a lot of SAM's just stand in stuff intentionally for it, which is trolling the healers.Drama like this is why I wish they'd remove Rescue from the game. Most people just use it for griefing. Or at the very least give us the ability to turn off the effects in options. I can't count the number of times I've seen a healer drag off some DPS into the depths of the abyss because "xD so funni guise so random you died haha" or just to be spiteful.
While we're at it, let's get rid of Superbolide on GNB. I see plenty of GNB's use it just to suicide and troll the party.
While we're at it, let's get rid of knockback immunity. There's some fights you need to get knocked back together and someone will troll and use it, which could wipe the party.
Maybe we shouldn't be deleting skills just because people screw with people with them. I didn't demand shadewalker for NIN get deleted because people would troll use it to wipe groups (most I requested was the ability to remove the buff, which even some NIN's agreed with due to accidents.)

Last night we were doing Dalriada. It was going ok, quite a bit slower than normal due to ppl not using power ups, but ok w/e. Then we get to the last boss and it is crazy, ppl are dying left and right and then just not accepting raises. Our whole alliance wiped when the boss was at 6% except the healer and the tank of our party, we were sitting on 3 lb bars. EVeryone, and I mean everyone in the party was telling the healer to use the lb so we could finish him. I was even using sound effects to try to get his attention. But all was for naught as after sitting on 3 bars and having 6 people telling them to use the lb for about 3 minutes, the healer went down then the tank.
Everyone was like, dude...seriously. The healers, the only healer in our party, response was that he was just not paying attention to the party list and didn't know we were all dead...
Also he didn't hear the sound effects cause he was listening to music and had the game sound shut off...
Needless to say by the time we got back to the boss we had 7 minutes left and it was a fail. All because of 1 dude who couldn't be bothered to do even the basics of his job. Even mid fight I was using more cure actions on my smn than they were casting actual heals. They weren't even throwing glares, just sitting there, doing diddly.
