I will always upvote any request for more historical Final Fantasy costumes and mounts. It's easy money for SE. Quite literally a Win-Win situation.
Imagine people running around in FFIX Steiner armor. Hilarious and awesome at the same time.

What are you talking about that would be awesome. Maybe not as a savage raid since we already had Alexander, but an alliance raid would be nice.
But my main vote would go to more FFX content. I think Anima is going to be the new raid primal in endwalker iirc, so hopefully that brings some much needed FFX to FFXIV.

I get it. I was disappointed at first that we didn't get a "real" Greiver or Ultimecia to fight, after we got Exdeath and Kefka. But the more I played it and let it sink in, I think what we got was a better way of incorporating VIII into XIV, than a flat out facsimile would be. We've already had that with Omega, there's only so much "this is an exact copy for reasons" they can get away with.I don't. At least comparatively speaking.
I liked Eden as a whole, but I reeeally have to squint hard to see some of the similiarities you've brought up, even though in the end I mostly agree with your assessment.
As much as people (me included) complain that crossovers are usually too lazy, and just dropped in the world with very little rhyme or reason, in this case I think they went a bit too far in the other direction. Its probably my favorite raid series thus far, but (other than the music and E1) it didn't really stir any sort of nostalgia for VIII in me. The most VIII vibe I got really, is sitting in the desert, Blue Fields theme blasting and Eden sitting in the background. Reminded me of ye old pre-rendered backgrounds.
TL;DR I've been probably brainwashed and trained by the developers to like and accept the in my face fanservice provided by other crossovers, and thus was underwhelmed by what is provided by Eden from VIII. My immersion is dead and it was murdered.
Yeah, Omega is the opposite example. It was just a glorified tournament arc with randomly dropped in nostalgia bosses.I get it. I would prefer something in-between I guess in terms of crossovers. Still very clearly recognizable, but the story beats and characters twisted a bit so that they don't require miles of leaps in logic in terms of their presence in the world. Ivalice comes to mind, even though I'm not much of a XII/Tactics fan.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Eden. I didn't like the conclusion to the story, or how we were force-fed another situation where nothing but the whims of a pair of teenagers are allowed to matter. I was laughing in disbelief at the insinuation that sharing a biscuit was anywhere near as deep or meaningful as the bond established between Loghrif and Mitron.
I quite enjoyed Final Fantasy VIII. I wouldn't put it at the top of the list in terms of my favourite Final Fantasy games, but it had a lot of unique elements to it that I would have liked to have seen worked into FFXIV.
I also think it would have been pretty cool to see Squall, Seifer and Ultimecia show up to give us a bit of pure fan service.
I'd much rather have an FFVIII event over an FFVII event unless we were to get Tifa's hairstyle & oufit along with some guys fashion too - And FFVIII has sorceresses traversing worlds & it seems cool af. I'd want a chance to get more FFVIII music
But a big yes to an FFIX event, I'd hope for Garnets outfit & hair (we need long hairs with bangs like Garnets)
I didn't participate in the FF FFXV event bc SE only created Noctis' outfit & hair & didn't add Lunafreya's hair or dress- I know my protest did nothing, but it bothered me we only got 1 gender of clothing
Vagrant I can’t say but Parasite Eve isn’t a IP they own. That being said I’d love a remaster or remake
