The one run I had, healer was a returner. They couldn't keep the tank up and left. The next healer couldn't either. Tank left.

I never look at people's gear because I'm using a controller and don't know how without getting my mouse and right clicking.

At least I try to keep my gear up to date. Heard a horror story about a tank in lvl 15 gear in aurum vale...

Had a PLD in Bardam’s that spammed clemency instead of letting excog pop. DPS also was very slow. I just left, it wasn’t worth it.

I am a petty person I kick single pull tanks, though I have a friend that takes a different approach that I personally found funny.

They let the tank do single pulls but just do not heal them at all outside off boss fights. Pretty much leaves the survivability at the mercy of the overall damage output.

Up/Down on the D-pad is the default for cycling through the party list. Once the person you want to examine is selected, hit square, and then choose Examine.


Just got out of a Dalriada where someone purposefully was calling the side the lasers were going to be hitting...even after multiple people told them to call the safe side, and that the laser side on the monitor is definitely NOT the safe side...love when people intentionally grief and try to get others killed.

I do the same lol. Mostly when I play sch or ast. But if I am whm it's a rescue. Most tanks follow tbh.

Course, if I'm taking, I'll notice the lack of healing, and my reaction will be to pull even SMALLER, because I won't be being healed. I'll start trying to bait SINGLE FOES.

I've noticed some aggression towards simple suggestions or attempts at helping, almost like people are desperately trying to '' defend the honor of FFXIV's reputation '' or think that if you genuinely try to help that you're a '' toxic elitist ''.
Like recently I was tanking one of the Nier raids, and a Samurai the whole time was standing in front of the boss.
I thought he had forgotten that the Nier raids weren't like the Delubrum that have no positionals, so I just pointed it out in a friendly manner nothing aggressive or shaming at all.

And some people got really upset at me and accused me of publically shaming him turning it into a big spectacle and saying that he was new ( booster I guess ).
So I just explained that he shouldn't be standing in front of the boss at least because he was getting hit by the tank busters too and had died from it multiple times and people got even more mad.
The player himself didn't even get mad............ Others got mad on his behalf.
He didn't actually listen tho... I dunno this seems to be a trend too, that if you try and help people they either ignore you or they do acknowledge it but don't take your advice at all and continue doing what they were.

Normally I don't rly comment on how others play, I only try to advice them if I see that they don't know what they're doing at all.
But I do deliberately go out of my way to do it in a way that doesn't come across as shaming etc.
