Serious note -Why so many toxic players lately?

I see the word "toxic" everywhere these days, it's the new hashtag to describe someone who's behaviour is not quite to your liking. A while back it was the word "racist"
A toxic player to me is someone who purposely goes out to insult or harries other players in some way. I assume everyone else to be just having a bad day or are preoccupied. Something we are all familiar with
I feel for those who get labelled as toxic for the wrong reasons.
A example of a real toxic game community would be Eve-Online. Wow, I met some people on there that were borderline evil.

I agree. since I main healer, I always assume people will play how they like, I just do my best to keep them off the floor. I dont run into what I consider "toxic" often. if someone appears new, my friend and I will usually mention any upcoming mechanics for boss fights, thats about it. how people choose to play is their business. I mean do I forget things, you betcha. am I going to ask what could be considered derogatory questions? no. as the latest meme goes, I dont pay their sub, if they have questions I answer as politely as I can and away we go.

I havent noticed increasing toxicity,m but I treat others how I want to be treated. have I noticed a lot of new people in runs, sure have. if they are new to the dungeon, will ask if they want tips before bosses, if they dont answer, then I dont. I dont assume they cant speak english, I assume they may not be comfy replying, which is fine. respect other people and playstyles, they will not be your own. if you do that, then the people who are ACTUALLY toxic, will be the only ones to worry about, and they are in every game.
