Arenvald in 6.x As a major character

Yes, the spell that lets her see with aether is supposed to be draining her life span, but unless the game actually moves on from the time bubble it's been in since ARR, that's basically meaningless, because nobody ages.

The characters are aging... just the world is on a slower timescale than our own. There are quests that reference how long it's been since a certain event in an earlier patch happened. I forget exactly, but I believe it's been about 2 years now in-game between ARR and Shadowbringers, not to mention that the scions on The First have had their lifepans going on much longer due to the difference in the speed of time passing on both worlds.

More likely they don't move on the Y'Shtola killing herself with her aether vision because plot armor.

If you replay NG+ or start from a new character, you find him hanging out in the Waking Sands just after the post Titan rebuild. He's been a background character so long.

I guess they could show the horrific scar underneath it, but I think he wants to keep the paint.

Id like to see him as a member or officer in the Flames, maybe as an adjutant to the General or Pipins right hand, he'd make a brilliant teacher, maybe a strategist.

He could be why Alphi becomes a sage.. perhaps to see if this new healing can fix Arvenald's problem.

For me, it's really hard to actually like some of these side characters because they do so little to actually make them interesting. I'm probably a rarity, but I felt the same way about Haurchefant. Yeah, he was nice, but...there was no emotional attachment there. Oh, he died? Well, that's unfortunate. I still didn't care a few patches later. lol At this point I think that most characters in the game just aren't my cup of tea. Arenvald is yet another one to add to that list. It's rare that they add or develop a character that I actually find interesting. I'm probably just weird though because I would have rather sided with literally anyone else but the Scions and their many associates because most of them bore me and/or annoy me. Looking at you, Alisae...

Different reasons but I also wasn't that hit by Haurchefant like most seem to be. I felt more for Ysayle. She was a lot more in the spotlight and had more going for her character in comparison, and yet the fanbase doesn't seem to care much. HE gets a whole quest and an emote, she gets a few mentions before being forgotten.
I think a lot of people in the community grow attached to characters based on how thirsty they are for their WoL rather than how well or bad written they are.
I felt bad for Arenvald too but I don't want more asspulls like Y'shtola and G'raha's for sake of having a character I think is cool stick around. That kind of thing makes me not take any of the danger they face seriously.

I came in here to say exactly this. He wishes to fight, we have a giant mecha, we have the two greatest minds in the world, Cid Garlond and Nero Scaeva in our pocket. We have everything we need for him to have an amazing return as our reinforcements.
