Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

Nope. They probably won't have anything to show for female Hrothgar for a long, long time. I'd be surprised if they were made available before 7.0.

Disappointing as that may be, it sounds like they have their plate full with male Viera and trying to fix whatever issue is preventing hairstyles from being easily added to both Hrothgar and Viera, so maybe it's for the best they take their time before they push female Hrothgar out the door in a sorry state as well.

Seems like we will be able to soon. I hope they give all the mogstation ones as well, not just the ones you can earn ingame. Would love to use yshtolas or lightings hairs.

They've confirmed that Hrothgals are coming, but not when. So don't hold your breath.

Only thing we know is that they said that they wanted to put all the focus on making the Male Viera first and once they are done they could focus on Female Hrothgar instead of splitting the focus on two things at the same time, making the whole progress take longer to get anything into the game.
But even if Male Viera is more or less done and gonna release with Endwalker I doubt we'll see Female Hrothgar for quite some time.
As a lot of the focus will have to go to the core game and make sure that Endwalker gets enough content so it doesn't fall behind schedule.

well their other plan was to release both of them potentially 7.0. but they decided to add male viera first, as it makes it easier to implement them 1 by 1. so my guess is 7.0 as an expansion seller.

Didn't know M-Vieras were shorter, even shorter than a full height F-Highlander, which was not expected at all. Personally, I like being really tall because mounts and glams look better. I don't like farming some daggers or shield for a lala and then just catching a faint glint. That said, when I heard about Vieras, I was determined to create a male coming from my M-Highlander and I have to say I have fallen in love with the waymy F-Viera looks right now, however, I'll play a lot with the benchmark tomorrow (and some more days I think) to see if I can create one I like and believe has as much potential as my current character. It's something I have been wanting for a long time and 5cms are not going to change that. Sure, I wanted them to be burlier and taller, so if they end up being weird pseudo elezens I'll just have to pass on them, but they have my vote of confidence since I won't abandon the option for just a couple cms.

I’m pretty petty but I personally love seeing the “make viera tall bros” crowd be disappointed. So many of you were aggressively implanting your ideals on a race that ultimately wasn’t for you at all.

Wow... What is this "this race is not for you"? It sounds so wrong in a thread where
we have all been on the same boat for months. People are allowed to have expectations and they have probably had them for as long as you, so it's normal for them to feel disappointed when they're not met. Adding salt to injury doesn't feel right.

I don't know if that's for hairstyles or headgear as well, but I'm already happy more hairstyles are on the way [...] we hopefully won't have to wait years between expansions to see more of them.

I think it might be for both... Well, they are currently delivering new styles (as seen by the Viera in the ninja relic set)

I truly hope that's the case but don't raise your expectations because we were promised exclusive hairstyles at launch and we've got none so far, so please, let it be true this time. If we can actually use older hairstyles and headgears during 6.0 I'll be really surprised and grateful for their effort.

And that would be wrong of those people to do. The design choice should be respected either way. No matter what, I am grateful to the graphics team for all their hard work.
