It's tradition in Sharlayan to live on and witness and so on and so forth. I'm willing to wager something from ancient times is underneath Thavnair and Radz-at-han, and while Sharlayan probably took what they valued long ago, they value the area enough to give out a protective aethereyte to it as a show of good faith or memory of a bygone era.

I'm thinking we find out that the Sharlayans were interested in something there while being mostly shut out of what we're really after in Sharlayan, and we also learn of the protective feature inherent in that nautilus design. But as Urianger points out in the trailer, "The respite afforded this land was but fleeting."
Hm. I do think if Sharlayan does have some sort of Super Aetheryte that protects far more than the usual aetheryte, it would indeed be in the Sharlayan style, for the branding. However, I'm not sure even those with direct knowledge of the Ancients would be able to predict what Fandaniel is trying to do with his manifold schemes. It does seem like it doesn't matter if any one of the various attempts to hasten the Final Days recreation fails, since Fandaniel will just go "oh well, next plan". So a hypothetical Sharlayan Super Aetheryte would have to somehow counter all possibilities, which is kind of strange that they wouldn't have put it in other important locations, like Silvertear Lake.

Basically I have the feeling that Sharlayan knows what's about to go down, and they're a few steps ahead in their preparations. We'll be playing catch up for the first half of Endwalker, but by the second half we'll be leaving the Sharlayans in their bunker maybe, hopefully, after pimpsmacking Fourchenault... thoroughly. Several times. It's probably too much to ask for his head on a pike, isn't it?
While I think Fourchenault is a jerk, I don't think he deserves death as such. He does deserve a wake-up call, or at least some sort of "please come up with the best plan to accomplish your goals, rather than the first plan that pops in your head" admonishment. But death is too far.

Now Fandaniel needs the equivalent of "head on a pike", although I wouldn't bother doing that literally, since it would be pointless for an Ascian.

I imagine trade routes for Radz-at-han will have mostly gone to crap, given the tower, and given the other bad stuff going on in the region that we don't know about yet. Will probably be the explanation for no marketboard. But who knows. Maybe we'll get surprised with double marketboard areas in Endwalker.
Honestly I'm not sure if the devs want to open the possibility of marketboards in the endgame "small city" hub. The primary reason for not having them is due to wanting to reduce congestion, so players will be split between two instances of either buying endgame currency items or buying from the marketboard, but not both in the same instance.

However, I don't know whether this still applies, especially since we can buy earlier Poetics gear in the "big city" areas anyway. Maybe they've solved the congestion issue?

(Also I'm fascinatedly curious how many different artworks of Yian Kutku you can find.)

I don’t think Fortnite is going to die. I’d love to kick him in the crotch with a steel-toed boot, and I really hope somebody does the equivalent of that ingame with some public humiliation thrown in, but I wonder at the odds of the twins coming out of this with both granddad and dad dead because of Ascian shenanigans.

SOMEONE will die, though. I’m expecting one leader (this group includes Hien), two or three Scions (this group includes Krile and Estinien), and someone who’s not part of either group. Probably not many more. We did have the “everybody’s dead, Dave” trainwreck of 2.55, but they’ve never gone that grimdark again and they even walked that one back, and I don’t think Ishikawa would do us like that. Now I’d be happy to be wrong about this! But if it’s a FFVI-tier disaster we’re trying to stop, that level of salvation will come at a cost.

And when Fanboy gets his at last... I hope it will be agonizing and awesome as a head on a pike. I’m totally celebrating. I didn’t do it with Emet or Elidibus because I was too busy feeling surprised/relieved after the former and plain shocked by how the latter turned out at the very end. But I can’t see that happening with this tool. He REALLY should have picked a better host...

As far as the super aethereytes go, my mind is thinkin' that they're specifically anti-tempering barriers, not necessarily intended for Fandaniel's towers, but to stop primal influence. There are, afterall, Matangas in Thavnair with a Matanga primal, right? If the Sharlayans were gonna conduct fieldwork there, then wham bam slam, thank you ma'am, base camp better have an anti-primal influence shield. Or something.

As for the Sharlayans not setting up protective bulwarks elsewhere, perhaps it's due to them being snooty jerks, looking down on the world and not wanting to share knowledge as a government order. We've seen from the incoming Sage that they likely have very advanced tech and knowledge of tech, they just don't share it.

(Also, as for Yian Kut Kus, I just google it :P)

No, what I suggested is different.

The Circle of Knowing was comprised of Twelve Archons that Louisoix led for the salvation of Eorzea. So far we know of 7
    - Y'shtola Rhul
    - Yda Hext
    - Papalymo Totolymo
    - Thancred Waters
    - Urianger Augurelt
    - Moenbryda Wilfsunnwyn
    - Rammbroes Zasertylsyn

I expect were gonna see one of the remaining 5 in Sharlayan when we go there come 6.0 that might help us champion our case.

Also the Echo/Resonant has universal abilities like the resistance to tempering and gazing into the past but, certain individuals have unique quirks tied to theirs

    -Mikoto's Future Sight
-Krile is "sensitive to the whispers of the soul"
-Fordola was able to predict movements seconds before they were executed
-Zenos can take over primals and view the color of souls

Not sure if the Warrior of Light has had their manifestation explicitly described but if were set to learn more about Azem I expect we'll find out more about WoL's Echo too.

Kind of hoping that we get another Scion moment where they all knew something that they never filled the WoL in on. Like Lyse's identity.

Hopefully a bit bigger on the scale of importance, though. Maybe like, "Yeah, we already knew that the motherland had Hydaelyn chained up in their book pit. We're cursed to not talk about it unless we're in the motherland, though." or something...

It probably won't happen though, or it'll be something ultimately innocuous. I still just always sorta get the feeling that there's a lot they just never tell us.

    LMAO at “book pit.”

We’re the Weapon Warrior of Light. Our job is to kill stuff that should kill us, fetch items for people who can’t or won’t, and sit through the occasional meeting where we’re allowed to speak maybe five words if somebody is feeling generous. Intellectual matters are not in our lane.

All jokes aside, I love my super nerd found family, but there probably is all kinds of stuff they don’t tell us. Some of it we wouldn’t understand without years of intensive study, and I imagine there are “just Sharlayan things”, like that Archon loaf, that it just doesn’t occur to them to mention to us unless the plot necessitates it. At least Estinien will be there to feel left out of the loop too, right?

Mmm, I can't wait to bond further with the DRG that I killed in the level 50 genkai via both being himbos. This is truly, the greatest incoming lore that we know is gonna happen.

    Oh, a fellow DRG!

We’re GUARANTEED to get some good reactions out of this man. I refused to trust him till after the Aery, chiefly because of those DRG 50 shenanigans, but I still talked to him every chance I got because I appreciated so many of the things that came out of his mouth.

I love him. He is my spirit animal. Telling Alphinaud how it is, but then being like, "Yeah, it'd be nice if things do work out how you envision, though. I'll help. I can be better." Though I do lean a bit more towards Fordola in that regard, I must admit.

I'm over the 50 DRG shenanigans now. I got it out of my system in Heavensward, though I did spend all of Heavensward up until he left after Nidhogg being like, "I killed you D:"

Also I'm not just a DRG, but it was my first 50. It's been lower on my priority list with each expansion, but I always do level it as one of my first few jobs, and I always make a relic for it.

I'm really an all rounder. The job I play the worst is BLM and as far as remembering its quest and lore, I'm pretty bad at that as well. For me, my job hierarchy preference goes something like Tank >= Melee > Healer >= Non-BLM casters > Ranged > BLM

Actually considering possibly maining Sage for raiding if we lose a healer in my raid group over the course of the lull into Endwalker raiding. Nouliths lookin' dope.

Back on topic... sorta... anyone got, "Krile's got Scriptwriter's Doom" on their 6.0 Prediction Bingo card? I got a bad feeling about it.
