Hm. I do think if Sharlayan does have some sort of Super Aetheryte that protects far more than the usual aetheryte, it would indeed be in the Sharlayan style, for the branding. However, I'm not sure even those with direct knowledge of the Ancients would be able to predict what Fandaniel is trying to do with his manifold schemes. It does seem like it doesn't matter if any one of the various attempts to hasten the Final Days recreation fails, since Fandaniel will just go "oh well, next plan". So a hypothetical Sharlayan Super Aetheryte would have to somehow counter all possibilities, which is kind of strange that they wouldn't have put it in other important locations, like Silvertear Lake.
While I think Fourchenault is a jerk, I don't think he deserves death as such. He does deserve a wake-up call, or at least some sort of "please come up with the best plan to accomplish your goals, rather than the first plan that pops in your head" admonishment. But death is too far.Basically I have the feeling that Sharlayan knows what's about to go down, and they're a few steps ahead in their preparations. We'll be playing catch up for the first half of Endwalker, but by the second half we'll be leaving the Sharlayans in their bunker maybe, hopefully, after pimpsmacking Fourchenault... thoroughly. Several times. It's probably too much to ask for his head on a pike, isn't it?
Now Fandaniel needs the equivalent of "head on a pike", although I wouldn't bother doing that literally, since it would be pointless for an Ascian.
Honestly I'm not sure if the devs want to open the possibility of marketboards in the endgame "small city" hub. The primary reason for not having them is due to wanting to reduce congestion, so players will be split between two instances of either buying endgame currency items or buying from the marketboard, but not both in the same instance.I imagine trade routes for Radz-at-han will have mostly gone to crap, given the tower, and given the other bad stuff going on in the region that we don't know about yet. Will probably be the explanation for no marketboard. But who knows. Maybe we'll get surprised with double marketboard areas in Endwalker.
However, I don't know whether this still applies, especially since we can buy earlier Poetics gear in the "big city" areas anyway. Maybe they've solved the congestion issue?
(Also I'm fascinatedly curious how many different artworks of Yian Kutku you can find.)
