About damage essences in Delubrum/Dalriada

What about players who won't use any essences, lost actions, etc. join their own PF? Or would the clears be too slow?

10 minutes cluster farming might yield me 5 fragments, and the skirmish essence is a 1/7 draw from the fragment. This is literally beneficiary to everyone else except me. Do you get my point?

You can buy many essence fragments with bozjan clusters.
They even reduced the cost this patch last night.

You can straight up get pure essences easier than ever.

You're running with pugs, it's only common courtesy to make each other's lives easier with -whatever possible-. Besides, that same 10 minutes can be used to farm fragments (not cluster farming) that can last for SEVERAL runs of DRn. You don't have to run with PURE ESSENCE, no---again, you're with pugs. But at least bring other lesser (but nonetheless still effective) essences to the raid. That's all people had been asking, really.

If 5 fragments is all you get from a 10 minutes farming (assuming solo) then you're highly likely not even farming the right mobs or something's clearly wrong with your method.

I see it as paying respect to fellow players, dunno where this mentality comes from but i can say it's mostly and inherently a western thing it seems. I would feel bad when i hold my teammates back, not using bufffood or potions in raids and all that.

And good essences aren't rare, especially when playing healer/tank you can get hundreds of essences in an hour which boost your damage a lot. I can literally farm 400+ essences in one hour and that solo. And the castrum literally throws essences at you in hilarious amounts, especially now that all six soldiers almost always survive.

alright i'm a bit confused about these other farming methods
what i was doing is bloodsucker + slash + conviction on a war to get a group of magitek down solo, which got me around ~20 clusters before slash ran out, with half of em dropping pure essences, and other half being useful action for selected job aswell
going for awakening seems like either doing same for 1-3 ranks, or ordained and death on a healer for IV; but with worse drop chances for skirmishes/ordained (which are also worse than pure), and some stuff like guardian and breathtaker being just useless

Nah Skirmisher on its own isn't THAT great, been seeing a lot more of Beast/Deep beast plus assassinate on melee jobs for the permanent font of power, and Ordained for RDM/SMN obviously gives you the super powerful Chainspell, guardian/breathtaker are very forgettable unless you're super passionate about leveraging Guardian to throw out 30s long Reflect casts for some reason (red choctober?)

Usually I just pick up Deep Beast on Monk and run with assassinate/rampage for killing in AoE- both of Burst and Rampage are hilariously good for mass pulling due to their high AoE potency so if you're solo pulling with a lifesteal essence I defo recommend it.

Slash has super obvious and really good synergy with WAR, but you could probably get away with simply using that plus Spellforge for the +25% damage against magitek since that'll increase your lifesteal too.

You don't need the higher tier of essence. Any will do, just to help your survivability.
In Dalriada, you can use the spirit of the beast essence with Lost Assassination. Amazing effects garanteed.

Buy the lower rarity it'll be enough as the essence only offers HP and defense, what matters is that it triggers Lost Assassination side effects which increases your damage by a lot.

I still have 40 of them, 10 of the higher rarity. But I'm done with Bozja, got my 3 relics for my jobs, farmed the mettle for 10/10/10 and finished duels.
If I can do it with such a stock remaining, why would you be unable to? The essence don't have duration so they last for the whole 180 minutes if you're in Zadnor/South Front.

TL;DR: Pull your weight, others are doing it.

Don't worry/blame yourself for that mess with essences and their myriad of sources that SE has forced upon us. If you don't have the gil and/or clusters then just ignore other players, you can't be kicked out of DR anyway. Will the run go faster if everyone uses essences/actions ? Sure, but then SE should have made it way easier to acquire them. Also the there are way to many different actions/essences and their combinations to make this easy for the average player.
