There should be other ways to obtain the Field notes.

You know what's ridicolous? Ok having trouble getting the 5 star ones, but there are 1 and 2 star ones I absolutely can't drop no matter how much I try! For example #1 and #35, especially the latter I've done the fate and CE that drop it sooooo many times it's crazy, since it's one of those you farm even for mettle, and it's only a two stars note but nope, it doesn't seem to exist at all for me.

I feel they should lower the respawn timer for CE skirmish chains so they cycle through quicker. There is just way too much waiting around just to be able to spawn a certain skirmish for those that require spawning because of the arbitrary cooldown timer. I think I would mind the low drop rate a lot less if I could do more repetitions at a faster pace.

Well, after several more evenings of spawning her skirmish chain I finally got Meryall. My unlucky friend is now at over 50 runs of the Dalriada without getting Menenius' notes. No dino mount either.

Good luck to everyone still farming, I hope SE adds a coin exchange option eventually.

My friend finally got Menenius 2 on Dalriada run #84. Never did get a dino mount.

Just make it so that players have an option to purchase the notes via coins- 50 silver bozjan coins, or 500 coins for 5 star notes. Waiting around and occasionally tagging a scorpion or lazily farming them, is not how i imagined i'd be spending my time in FFXIV quickly losing interest, but here we are.
Also, Ive dueled him going on 5 times now and i suck at it. I dont want to duel him again or have to sit for another 2 hours bc cluster farms spawn other CEs unrelated and back up this fate in the spawn queue. It's so tiring. It isn't fun. I think imma give this game a break - all this for a free mount. It's not worth it.

I 100% agree. I actually made a similar post a while ago. I’ve gold cleared MDK 113 times in counting and it still hasn’t dropped. The duel thing doesn’t interest me and I don’t want to use an exploit to get the clear. If it wasn’t for grinding relics, I would’ve given up ages ago. At this point, MDK is just filler until the next CLL spawn

damn,i got 2 delta mount from dr, the good thing about dr is that its not a waiting simulator ,so for some its fine to do it more than 50 times, unlike LL ,steel of flame or dalrida, they make you wait for a rng

I am also taking my first break from the game since I started thanks to the notes' drop rate, and it feels right. You are not alone

This grind is evil....
I did almost 200 rund Delubrum and never saw the mount. I played Lacus since it is out and i am still missing Lyon's Fieldnotes. I did 50 Dal runs only to get the Fieldnotes back to back but never saw the mount. I dont know this dropp rates are low, very low.....

Reminds me how Yoshi said to not burn out for the mettle stuff but the field notes are being deadlier than that
