WoW won't even kill itself. It's got too large of a loyal fanbase for it to die because of content changes. They might continue to lose more players but the numbers would never drop to a critical level.

Activision, on the other hand, could kill WoW if they decide a few hundred thousand subscribers (still more than some MMOs have) aren't worth keeping the servers running.

Do a lot of us hate what WoW became and losing what it had been? Sure. But it's not a reason to be looking for the game to die so those who do enjoy what it evolved into lose their game.

This. One point I brought up in his comment section is that he only feel this way about the game its new to him. I'm pretty new to wow and play whenever i have time/get bored with FF. There is a shit ton of content for me to do in wow and collect. Same way there is a ton of content for someone new to FF.

Its why I am afraid that Bellular is using FF14 in a disingenuous way. Its too familiar to me like when he tried to use his failed game studio as a way to be a "game dev" to criticize Blizzard. Its a cudgel to hit Blizzard.

He will not stream himself playing the game.
Most of his main FF14 talk is stuck to his clips channel.
And anything associated with FF14 on his main channel is used to bash Blizzard.

He should have waited until he got further into the game before showering the game in these compliments. He has admitted that he just finished the Gridania questlines at level 18. That is super early in the game and puts some of his compliments as super questionable under that light.

Claiming the general community feel as his own original thoughts and ideas. Then uses whatever false credentials he can come up with to further validate his videos, like his "game dev" status.

I know he made a video taking about having a "game 2" back in April -- but theres still no new information about game 1 and the website has been relatively about the same since the CoffeeBox website was launch.

Its a concept at best. Its why when I see Bellular going "as a game dev" as the biggest joke -- because he hasnt released or made anything yet in the 6 years as a supposed game dev.

Bellular Clips has made a new video on the topic of raids - Remember: Bellular is only level 18 so he most likely has never done any of the raids. And his co-host Matt has also stated he has only done raids in ARR and ShB.

A lot of these WoW content creators are inevitably going to turn back to what they do best once they reach a level of comfort with this game; Criticize the game. I wonder what kind of reaction that will get...

The same FFXIV players that are celebrating these videos are not going to take kindly to it haha.

Really though, as has been pointed out, all of their positivity towards 14 just exists to serve their negativity towards WoW. It's not a healthy thing.

He won't like it. People keep pressuring him into playing so I don't blame him for giving it a shot but he won't like it.

Zack is more about big social activities (which FFXIV doesn't make as easy as WoW) and the end game raiding.

As for Bellular, he does do clickbait a lot but most of his criticisms of WoW seem pretty on point to me. Vicious but fair. He seems to highlight many of the issues the game has but he also points out how it could be done better.

I know that I aS a GaMe DeV see many of the same problems.

FFXIV has issues for me too, mostly tied to its disastrous engine. I would love to see this team do a MMO with a more robust and future-proofed game engine.
