Actually a part people tend to leave out, his own address was leaked, and someone threatened to leak it if he didn’t leave.I disagree. I think it's more profitable for his brand to stick with what he knows. Venturing off into FFXIV would risk alienating his current viewership, so he'd have to approach that with care, especially since he's not quitting WoW any time soon (nor should he as he's hired people specifically to work on WoW contents for the foreseeable future).
From what I can gathered, there were two things that happened:
1. Coming from WoW, he expressed interest in the Savage scene and wanted FFXIV to have more bosses per raid tier, and someone apparently sent a death threat to him.
2. He apparently showed the death threat on stream and Twitch banned him temporarily for that since it's considered doxing. As far as I know, he was never forced to quit the game. However, since he was forced to quit streaming for a while, he's had to reevaluate on what to do moving forward and I guess he decided continuing to be a regular content creator was not it.
