Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

Im not a native english speaker but that text from the interview sounds like they havent even started on making new hairs for viera/hrothgar. Or am I understanding it wrong? and if they think two years is "little bit longer" then....lmao....

I dont really care for hats, it isnt a big deal to not be able to use them. I do wish they would just let the ears disappear under high hats because that would still be logical and that they would let the ears clip through the veils we have. Furthermore honestly just make more faceveils or other things for the face instead of making more of the same hats. Make pearls hanging down or cool masks or headbands or crowns/tiaras.

Y'all let's just be positive. Finally they broke the silence that they have been in for like what? 2 years? They didn't say "it's not gonna happen" they said "we are working on it and I hope having news soon" maybe we don't get them in the launch of EW but it doesn't seem we are getting them in 7.0....

Even though I don't really understand why are they getting worried about hats clipping with hairs since it basically happens with every other race

Yes ofc those are important.
But people tend to get more and more demanding and that's not the right way of doing it.
We know SE listens, we've seen it multiple times.
But with a busy schedule, getting the time to add new stuff people are asking for isn't always as easy as people seem to think.
MMOs need to follow a time schedule for updates and expansions to keep the game and its content fresh and interesting or else people will stop playing.
That is and will be the top priority for any MMO I think.
And yes, I know everyone is aware, but with the pandemic things have taken a hit for everyone and the speed of development of stuff have been noticable due to it.
So priority has to be set and made.
I just wish more people would chill a little and be happy that things are at least on the way.
It's not like SE will forget unless people keep spamming them daily about it.

Square Enix is multi billion dollar company that has been around since 1990 something, they can take the heat. It's one thing to respect them, it's another thing to baby them. Babying them is what allows them to cut resources from the game and shift them over to things like Avengers or other projects. It's important to keep the pressure on; blind loyalty is bad for any product/service. If an mmo comes out that delivers in character customization and mmo elements I'm definitely inclined to jump ship until Square Enix gets their act together.

Now, they have me with Male Viera, well if they're tall; if they're short I'll just wave it as "at least they're here." But nevertheless, they have me with just adding male Viera. Moreover, half-assing things is what got us to 1.0, they lose our loyalty when they add races without their opposite gender and with limited customization. Everyone knows they messed up, even themselves. I don't know who they were kidding with 8 hairstyles and no hats/helmets support. They rushed them to get them out for Shadowbringers, but now it's time for them to cut back on the budget for gpose coding and gpose stickers and other things like ocean fishing.......and focus that money on this subject; well that's my opinion anyway.

After seeing the question answered, I do have some small hope they will eventually come to releasing the hairstyles for viera.

So to me, this confirms that they are aware we are upset, that this does need addressing. But it looks as though like I said, a large part of the problem is that they don't have the resources to focus on sorting this out. So this is absolutely something that will get worse with releasing male viera and hrothgar. It does irritate me that the people who have been the loudest are the ones who will get what they want, even though they too will end up feeling the same frustrations after 2 years of playing the race they want.

But in the hopes that someone might see this, I want to say, please please just let us choose how much clipping we're ok with in regards to hats. We're fine with ears sticking out when they might not make sense to.

They have said for years that viera would get hair, this is not new information. We always thought we would get hair for viera, we just hoped we would get it sooner than later. It seems like they are really stretching the definition of "a little bit longer". I guess 2 and a half years is just "a little bit", and another additional year or two (minimum) is "a little bit".

Like I stated before, now there are going to be double the issues, and this is prior to female hrothgar being released. Are female hrothgar going to get the same treatment as viera hairs? Regardless they probably won't be seen until 7.0 earliest. They never even started working on hairs, and you'd think "well isn't it a little late to start having meetings to talk about how to allocate resources to actually create and add hairs for viera?". Seems to me it was probably just a "we'll get to it when we get to it" internally.

I trust in them that since they've made official comments about it that they are fully aware that the community is waiting for it and that they are doing what they can while still maintaining everything else so it doesn't take a negative hit from it.

I thought that was obvious. I guess not.
When they themselves have stated that they are aware of it. Sometimes they've said so several times yet people still continue like they would be oblivious to it.
