The devs are fully aware of ACT and parsers that’s why they’ll never implement anything to stop people from using it. If you are on ps4 you can ask your friend for the logs from a PC player. If you want to get better and really master your class you need data and tools to analyse. And its still kind of ironic that the developers give us challenging content where you need to optimise your rotation but then won't let you look at your numbers. They enjoy world first races and know very well that this won't be possible without tools like ACT and ultimates would especially impossible, but they still say they don't want people to use them.
Square Enix will not change their don’t ask don’t tell policy because of the toxicity having an in game parser would cause. Like the person above me said, “ prevention is better than a cure”.
It would be cool if there was a personal parser in game that showed your DPS, and then saved your best fight, so you could always try to improve yourself by comparing it to your own past performance-- but not comparing to other people.
Because there doesn't have to be direct harassment for the exclusionary nature of parsing to happen. Putting an official parser into the game is just their putting a giant stamp of approval on that behavior. Exactly the type of environment the devs don't want.
That was one of the worst things about a certain other MMO I played for a long time. Not just the abuse, but that end of even a normal mode, easy dungeon, people would copy/paste the parse into group chat, like it was something special. Gods, I hated that grandstanding most of all.
"Get over it man, it's a level 20 dungeon ffs"

I mean the game is already toxic, and exclusion already happens. It would continue to happen in the same manner, silence. It just makes it easier if it was offical and it would give console players access to it.

A parser alone won't help you get any better. They should instead implement a rhythm game that uses your skills as the notes and plays them in the correct rotational order at the speed you should be inputting them.
An FF 14 instance that uses Dance Dance Revolution? I can do that![]()
