Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

After many fanfests I can say that the announcements in these are usually for completely new stuff, fuel for the hype train, meanwhile, they use the live letter and interview t give detailed information regarding new stuff and improvement over old stuff. While hats and hairstyles are important for many of you, and probably for me too as a future male bunny, I really think it just wasn't important enough to fit in the fanfest schedule.

I'm pretty sure female vieras will get new hairstyles with the expansion, may even get all the male ones if the scale between male and female is similar. About of the existing hairstyles for other races and headgear and specially the hrothgar Issue, I don't know, that's on a very different level, but at least with the addition of male viera and fem hroth in the future, we will have more ppl asking for fixes.

At the VERY LEAST, I hope hrothgar and viera get to use the unlockable hairstyles like the ones you can buy from the market board or the mogstation, that would go a long way of making the races seem less incomplete even if they still retain the exact number or hairstyles on the character creation screen as when Shadowbringers launched. But I highly suspect SE will add male viera and female hrothgar first to make sure the "base fundamentals" of the entire races have been made before they can start working on expanding their customization options.

Totally agree with everything that what was said earlier.

But let me also share my concerns:
I very happy with Male's Viera announcement but, I think Vieras and Hrothgars customization update should have been a priority!
Both races were released TWO years ago and they are still imitated. Character customization is a HUGE thing in this game and basically one of my favorite things to do. It doesn't make sense, the team keep releasing new hairs hairstyles and not update them for these two races. Also the ongoing moogle event having two amazing hairstyles to be redeemed and viera and hrothgars players not being able to use them it's just an April fool's joke.

Right now the game is actually making me play as an Elezen, which I love, but my heart belongs to the Bunny girls.
It's ridiculous, no player should pay for a fantasia in order to change their hairstyle. No player shouldn't be able to use an item that required a huge amount of hours farming. No player shouldn't be able to use an item that was bought with REAL money on the mogstation. In the end this is a payed subscription game and I think by now this should have been fixed. We are a very dedicated community and it disappoints me.

The whole silence about this topic during the fan fest was frustrating. Are they keeping this a secret because they want to surprise us? Are they keeping this a secret cuz they are actually working on it? Or are they just not speaking cuz the answer is just "No"?

Also I hope they don't come with the excuse like "We were working on Male Vieras and in this regard we didn't have time to do the update", cuz in my opinion this should have been a great opportunity to make Male and Female bunnies able to use Hat and the Hairstyles in game.

Literally the modders were able to fix the issue like what? Two weeks after SB was released... I won't ever use mods, since that's not how the game is suppose to work but how could people from the community achieve it and a professional team can't do it?

Oh well, I hope we still get a good surprise in a future live letter or in the 14 hour stream that was postponed.
If the update is bound to happen in 7.0, I'm gonna cry.

What I do not get is why aren't Viera able to use the normal Hairstyles?
Their ears are in a similar position to Miqote ears so why?

Probably because Miqote hairstyles have the ears baked into them.

Which is perfectly understandable, but to be fair, ppl waiting for female hrtogar have had to wait for 2.5 years already and if they come out in 7.0 that's gonna be 5 years of waiting, so I would perosnally encourage them to release female hrotgar first, and once the races and their genders are released then work on hairstyles/headgear and then finally more customizaiton options across the board

We were promised hairs well before female hrothgar. Female hrothgar can wait, frankly.

Miqo'te ears are positioned further back on the head and spaced further apart than Viera ears, so some hairstyles with a braid or a hairband would "clip" under the ears unless they modified the hairstyle.

But there's not a majority number of hairstyles that would have such issues, it seems their priorities are/have been elsewhere.

Sure, but waiting for an entirely new racial model that was before the most recent Fan Fest a solid maybe isn't quite the same as waiting for hairstyles that were definitely coming if we waited just a little bit longer, is it?

You'd think that. But now male viera are coming, the voices asking for anything for Hrothgar will be so muffled that they will get away with releasing female hrothgar literally however many years in the future they want.
Hell I won't be surprised if they give viera more hair/headgear options without giving Hrothgar as much, if any.

I don't know about that, it doesn't have to be such a "FU, got mine" situation for everyone.

Viera at the very least seem easier to work with than Hrothgar by design, but we can still keep the thread going until they actually address both races beyond adding the counterparts.
