There's also Mother Miounne. Probably more likely to be remembered if you start in Gridania, though.

I remember seeing 3 elezen characters the past 2 months... They do feel like the rarest race in game, along with femroe... My server has a lot of male roes and hrothgar so I always notice when I see an elezen. I tried being one at one point. I don't mind the run animations, but I think the male faces are really ugly. The female elezens are really pretty though, I like how refined they look.

I'd probably play one if their necks weren't so weird imo.
It really does feel like their heads are too tiny for their bodies and their necks too long.
I kinda wish there was an option that wasn't like that.

I kinda appreciate that they look like their own race, not a generic elf, but I do think that if they were just taller, pretty faced human with pointy ears and good proportions they'd be more popular. Maybe one of the most popular races even, but I don't think we'll ever have that. In the future if they expand the character creation, I can see them adding new faces and options for all races, but I don't see them changing the race's silhouette...

They are criminally underrated, but you know... they're also a blasphemous stain on what was once the proud Elvaan race from FFXI.

Why are they a blasphemous stain? Well... SE took away their junk in the trunk.

Should be at 3:27 to see that Elvish women are supposed to have curves and a noticeable butt!

For this reason their grace is marred. That said, I am always crushing on my friends' who play them. Usually their drivers have good taste in what they wear, and in what makeup/lipstick option to use too. Would take an Elvaan -1 over a Miqote or Au Ra any day. Now if we compared them to Roegadyn ladies though... ooof, it gets harder.

I do agree with you I am just saying that I don't personally like it.
But it's like with the Male Viera, a lot of people are complaining that they're effeminate because they're not gruff.
But that's from a human and specifically mostly a modern NA pov that also contradicts actual history where male warriors were often described as beautiful.

I think that with humans in games it makes more sense to play into tropes like that and irl povs but with fictional races I like it when they don't even if it might not fit what I want.
Whether it be physically or culturally.

Like in FFXIV lore-wise I really doubt that people look at Male Viera the same way as the comment section of a WoW Streamers Twitch chat would or that people think it's weird to have cat girls running around in short skirts lol.
It's just normal and I prefer when things are different that way, especially since it's less judgy than irl.
Like when women don't need to cover themselves from neck down in order to not be negatively judged or having people creep on them and where men don't need to be Kratos.

I do agree tho that Elezen would kinda lose that unique feel if they added that, it's just purely a selfish wish on my part :P.
