My guess is the packet loss or latency becomes too high for a short time and causes the disconnects.
    So... Telia... again... recurrent problem from FAI to Telia Center... not Square enix...

    With the new computer: a lot of error 90002/90001 ...

    The folder FF is in exceptions with antivirus, or antivirus desactivated but no change ...

    I'm going to kick a thread that hasn't had a post in over 20 days because this is absurd.



    I wiresharked this a little while back because I was fed up with it. I've been having excessive disconnects (the 90ks) daily for the last couple months. This is 100% serverside. Didn't look through this thread so idk if anyone else posted a packet capture, but here's mine. The attached image is the end of a TCP session with the FF14 server I was connected to. Essentially this is the server telling my computer that there is no more data to be sent and it is closing the connection.

    Packet loss can stem from any number of issues but the server closing the connection is pretty damning.

    Edit: Skimmed through, yes, exact same results from other packet captures in this thread. Although I have not personally seen a tcp reset flag, I also haven't been packet capturing every time a DC occurs. If people are seeing RSTs in their captures that's another indication that the port (on the server's side) has closed and will no longer accept data. Good job, SE. Fix this nonsense.

    Edit again because i'm a moron: Looking over all these again i'm realizing I made the basic mistake of swapping server/host. The host is closing connection in that capture screenshot. Why? Everything else i'm seeing is the host acknowledging that the port on the receiving end is closed (Host sending a RST/ACK to the server). Which still begs the question of what's going on? This happens DAILY to me. No other services or games have disruptions like this. I have no lag, no drop outs on voice platforms like Discord, this is SOLELY an FF14 issue. Been a while since I had to analyze a tcp stream, though. Dangit SE, making me dust off my basic understandings of networking.

    Welp, we're back to this again. Happening once more, have tried the usual suspects:
    • I am not getting any visible warning before this happens. I am not noticing any lag, rubber-banding indicating packet loss, or anything of the sort.
    • This is not happening to my fiance (same network), suggesting it is local to my computer.
    • It seems to be more common, but not guaranteed, to happen when transitioning areas to/from a duty, or shortly thereafter. It does infrequently happen when just standing around.
    • I have tried the following diagnostic steps based on solutions I've found online:
      • I have disabled Large Share Offloading for IPv4 and IPv6
      • I have swapped ethernet cables and ports on our modem
      • I have fiddled with IE settings to make sure security is set the way FF14 prefers
      • I have reinstalled the game multiple times.
      • I have updated Windows and my drivers as applicable.
      • I have reinstalled Windows and my drivers via a full wipe and going from scratch.

    EDIT: Despite my suspicion the issue was localized to my computer I tried a VPN regardless, WTFFast. It behaved itself for a little while and then had two in relatively rapid succession. I don't believe a VPN is going to be the fix here.

    I've tried swapping in a dedicated PCI-E ethernet card, and making sure ports are properly forwarded for the Steam version of the game, for my PC. No change. I'm now trying setting the game to High priority.

    SE... I'm willing to play ball. If there are technical problems, I can work on them, I've played games on PC for most of my life. I've tried every fix known to Hydaelyn and not one of these has proven effective. I'm at an utter loss.I am having no general internet connectivity problems, so whatever on Earth is causing 14 to be so sensitive... on the one hand, something is different from my computer to my fiance's that's causing me to have this and not him. On the other, I'm hard pressed to say this is my fault when it's only this game that's being so unstable.

    I've gotten two 90006 disconnects tonight. Both of them while in a dungeon.

    First time was Xelphatol. It took almost 8 minutes before the game finally error'd out and disconnected me. During that time the lag was so bad that literally nothing was happening on the screen. I could still chat when it first started, but after a few minutes even that stopped working.

    Second time was in World of Darkness raid. That was about 10 minutes ago from the time of this post. Similar to above, but it only took about three minutes before the game error'd out. I lost chat functionality about 30 seconds into the lag.

    I'm not going to be a circus dog and jump through all the hoops. I know what I needed to check, I checked it. The problem is not on my end nor on my ISP's end. All other internet traffic to and from my computer is 100% fine. Out of the 3+ years I've been playing, this is the first time I've had an issue this bad. I've had disconnects here and there, but never two in the same month, much less two in the same night. And none of them were ever accompanied by such extreme lag.

    Square needs to accept responsibility and fix the problem.

    EDIT - I attempted to post about this issue on the Steam forums, since I have the Stream version. The moderators there deleted the thread with the reasoning "Please refrain from attempting to bait users into non-constructive arguments." I included two links in my post, one to this thread and one to the thread about the Chaos Datacenter. Square, what's going on? Why do you have people actively trying to hide issues from the community?

    SIX disconnects in the span of eight hours. SIX. And insanely high latency right now. It takes 5-10 seconds for an attack to register. Stop putting the blame on players, Square.

    90002 almost every time we try and zone into the squadron barracks, but it can be anywhere any time, easily 4-6 times an evening.
