Predictions for job(s) in the next expansion?

Gaius being the next job?

1) Already got Gunbreaker for ShB.
2) You know whose assets we've seen recently? Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn using unique animations as a Gunslinger yet it wasn't the job.
3) This "showcase" was the same old Terminus Est but yellow.

Judge Magister would work, it's an armored job fitting melee gameplay and we have Gabranth roaming around since 4.5.
But how Gabranth is related to a reaper? The closest I can think about is that... He ded in XII.

In 3.55 (Or 3.56?), Gosetsu revealed a bit of the Samurai kit, but we has a MSQ character while Gabranth will probably remain a side content character.
Not gonna lie, I'd be incredibly hyped if it was Judge Magister, not at the point of making it my new main, no, no, MCH remains the winner of my heart.

But sadly I don't see the connection with Reaper beyond being ded.

That's too much of a stretch imo.
There is nothing indicating that he wants to change weapon or fighting style, he cannot take on a new job since he can't use jobs and ether anyway.

That's not quite accurate. Thancred has changed jobs from Gladiator to Rogue to Gunbreaker and he lost the ability to manipulate Aether in ARR. They also released a short story showing where Zenos was able to channel magical energy into a sword as a teenager through use of a crystal and some blood-letting.

And a big plot-point of the Sorrow of Werlyt quest line was that the Garleans have a magitek equivalent of the Soul Crystals used by the job system. I won't go into detail to avoid spoilers, but we even see one of these Magitek Soul Crystals in a cutscene...in Gaius's hand to be exact.

Wasn't aware of that, this could could tie into something but given this is a side questline I'm not too sure. We'll know soon enough!

Nothing in the story right now indicates Alphy will change jobs either, but there are clues regarding Gaius' case. They might not be obvious or big hints, but they are there.

On the contrary, the latest patch clearly show how conflicted Alphinaud is about his own inaptitude to help others. This is very good motivation to get a real job.

However, we may be able to get a link between a reaper and a judge.
Quoting Balthier from FF XII: "If you ask me, they're more Executionners than judges."

Executionners and Reaper shares a common theme but I don't think it can be considered as evidence.

I wouldn't put the certainty of Zenos's using a scythe at 95%. People are basing that off of a combination Yoshida's Reaper shirts, which the meaning of those shirt hints is in dispute, and the fact they are playing coy with revealing his new weapon. It is using a guess (t-shirt hint = scythe) to try and prove another guess (Zenos's job change = new class).

Now, it certainly is a possibility that Zenos is showcasing the new class and it is a scythe wielder class but they typically use allied NPCs as opposed to enemy NPCs to showcase the new classes prior to their official introduction: Yugiri-Ninja, Thancred-Rogue, Alisaie-Red Mage, Gosetsu-Samurai, Thancred (again)-Gunbreaker, Alphinaud-Sage. And while Zenos was a Samurai, which was the same class the trailer WoL highlighted in Stormblood, the only class we have seen the WoL highlight in the current trailer is Paladin. The two NPCs that highlighted the new Stormblood classes in game prior to their reveal were Alisaie and Gosetsu.

As for the grim reaper shirt hints we are heading next expansion to the heartland of an empire founded by Hades, a guy named after a Greco-Roman Death God, and death themes and imagery are very present in relation to the Garlean Imperial Army. Reaper battle mechs, skull-faced helmets, Garlean soldiers using attacks named things like Yellow Death, ivory battle standards, the Imperial Army being the main force used to bring about the Apocalypse, etc...

The theory that Yoshida could be using the Grim Reaper shirts to hint at a Garlean soldier job like Judge isn't that far-fetched. Especially since Yoshida just informed us in the Sorrow of Werlyt quest line that the Garlean's have magitek soul crystals which means there would be a soul crystal available for the player to use for a possible class that originates in Garlemald. Very odd little coincidence there.
