Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

Honestly, like you all I just want one of two things to happen:
1. Either tell us what's going on by sharing a roadmap of the plans for Viera & Hrothgar for hopefully near future.

OR

2. Tell us STFU- We are not doing anything Veira & Hrothgar are staying as they are so we can stop holding on to false hope.

As someone who works in development- this is just poor communication. We are considered stakeholders and should have some sort of progress update. And there is no shame on if the work can't be done stating it.

I am not picky- I don't want all the hair of the other races magically granted to work ( though would be nice), I don't want to complain about how older hats in game dont work. ( though they should). I just want Information about what is being done if anything at all. And if nothing is done or is planned to be done I would like to hear that as well. At least then I will have an answer!

Though I will state is pretty poor to release a whole expansion and several new hair styles specific to the expansions and not make them wearable for all races- but that's a different soapbox.

Please just COMMUNICATE!!!

Why add the god damn races if you are going to release them at an unfinished state and do nothing about it in the future? It does not make sense.

They said we'd be seeing updates in future patches, but they'd still be "race-specific, so there won’t be as many selections when compared to other races".

You could argue future patches is a very vague concept and even patch 8.5 would technically be a future patch, but that's still not them saying they're staying as they are right now.

Throwing my support in for this thread, it's really bad how some players are getting new things and others are just being ignored. 8 New hair styles and Viera and Hrothgar don't even get 1 (Poor Hrothgar being locked to the face not a good design decision in my opinion) as well as getting shafted when it comes to new items as well. Really hoping we get to hear some news regarding this issue during fan fest but this should of been addressed earlier. You know how the saying goes silence is deafening.

To give us the races overall. They weren't unfinished for 'them' when they were released. We still don't know if they absolutely won't, but it looks pretty slim at this point.

Which is exactly what has been happening...

Either they are working on them now and it's a major undertaking or they've scrapped the idea feeling that it isn't worth it versus how many people actually play said races.

But I can't see this being some big reveal in EW, as it seems more sense to do it now...which doesn't seem like that's going to happen before EW drops.

Who knows? But you were claiming they said they weren't doing anything more with them and they're staying as they are. They were already talking about updates for them before Shadowbringers even launched so they told us the exact opposite.

Which is why people are asking that if they don't intend to follow through with it to come out and say so.

I said they have pretty much said #2.
And they have with their silence, explaining the work involved, and saying "maybe"...which usually ends up being a no.

Are you thinking of male Viera and female Hrothgar? They have spoken about that and talked about the work involved and if they ever get the resources to do so then they will.

They haven't said anything about the work involved creating hairstyles or "maybe they will". They said they would, and they haven't.

That's the whole point of the thread.

That's the whole point of the thread.

They talked about the customization of both and the challenges/work involved before they were even released.

Helmets and such were not working with the already created systems. Anything that replaces the head will. Hairstyles are the same coding principle as helmets as the head isn't being replaced.

If their stance has changed since then, then I missed it and stand corrected. But that was the main issue I remember reading about concerning customizing both races and their limitations.
