What makes writing presumptuous.Try being on Mateus in Ul'dah where they use the /em function to narrate their RP (not usually ERP, mind you) where no one can block or tab it. I love Mateus but I don't hang out in public areas unless I'm ready to be assaulted by poor or presumptuous writing. And the Quicksand is well... Grand Central Station, let's say.
That kinda seems like something you signed up for with being on the rp DC. Otherwise just hide blue chat. It wasn't originally. So yeah...
Originally there were only two DC's (NA), and Balmung was on Aether.
There was no RP datacenter. There was just Balmung as the RP server. And its all unofficial anyway. And even then, the servers were adjusted when they made the split so... Crystal was made of servers from both Primal and Aether.

Mateus became the secondary RP server before even that though. Hell, years before because of how long Balmung remained locked to new players. Part of the reason Crystal was given so many of the smaller worlds was because both Balmung and Mateus were massive on their own and doing so would even out the population somewhat. That said looking at their forum join date they definitely predate that.It wasn't originally. So yeah...

Does any world actually have an official 'RP' tag, or no? If no, then I think RP "narration" of the sort described is ridiculous.Mateus became the secondary RP server before even that though. Doesn't really matter if you think it's ridiculous or not. Bulk of RPers who either moved from or couldn't get into Balmung moved to Mateus. That's the thing that happened. There are some small groups on other servers and other DCs that also RP but that is just how the trend shook out.

Mateus didn't become the one until after the DC changes were announced.
Mateus was dead before 4.4.
If there are no official RP servers, then obnoxious RP (as described) is objectively ridiculous. Doesn't matter that a bulk of players call a world an "RP world", it just isn't. Spam like that is unacceptable.Doesn't really matter if you think it's ridiculous or not. Bulk of RPers who either moved from or couldn't get into Balmung moved to Mateus.
