I unironically love this and can't wait to dress up like a poultry princess.
On another thread, I mentioned that I eat chicken nugget. Don't turn me into a chicken, SE! (You are what you eat?)
Honestly, I'm disappointed already. Figured I might as well be early on and save SE the trouble. So people log on after the event goes live, do the 10 minute quest, then spend 2 weeks running around in chicken costumes? Oh yeah and there's an egg decoration added to the seasonal vendor as an afterthought. I miss the egg hunts from the first couple years; why they don't include the best parts of each year into future iterations to build these events into truly memorable and fulfilling experiences it's just... I don't get it. So once again, the event goes live, log on, do the quest, then forget it all ever happened... Are players really okay with that?
I'm curious... how do you know how the event is going to play out without having done the event...?Honestly, I'm disappointed already. Figured I might as well be early on and save SE the trouble. I'm not saying its not a likely prediction, but who knows?
I've been (positively) surprised by some of the last Hatching-Tide events - despite not liking the theme all that much.
yol dance is going to see a resurgence

You wish the old quests were still around and feel that would make the event more memorable?
Like... as in, "ah, I remember this. I've done this egg hunting quest every year for the last 10 years. Welp, they still have it."
IDK man...
I've only been here for 2 easter events and I remember them both fondly.
2 years ago we had the spriggan costume come out, and to get it you had to solve a series of riddles.
My FC had a blast trying to puzzle them out together. At one point I'd figured out a clue, and it was so goofy everyone thought I was joking. But then after 10 min they look around and go "Where's Meeeee? He's in the South Shroud? Why?"
And someone shouted "OH MY GOSH THAT'S THE ANSWER!" in voice chat.
Last year we got the rabbit costumes.
And the event focused on us chasing around all the chickens that were supposed to be laying eggs for the event. Whenever the chicken catching FATE started it was always kind of incidentally cleared, because everyone just went around trying to use the net action to catch each other. There was always a train running after at least 1 Lalafell as everyone tried whacking us with their nets... and along the way some of those nets happened to hit enough chickens we'd clear the FATE.
Seasonal event's aren't really there to be big events.
Like, take the one you remember so fondly, it was a simple egg hunt.
They're cute and short and fun and give us a little something for our troubles.
It sounds like it's not the event that's changed, but your perspective now that you're a more experienced player, like you want more from the events because they're something new and you've done so much of what the rest of the game has to offer.
I hope that regardless of your eggpectations you have an eggcellent time at this year's event ♡
I mean, don't we already have a chicken set ? *looks at the chocobo suit
Joking aside, I don't really mind this year's reward, but I gotta admit it dosen't really interest me.
