I swear to the twelve if one more healer "rescues" me out of my leylines imma become an ice mage and all my parties will know despair!

In all seriousness though, WHY? Leylines is such a dps increase that it's preferable to get hit with a weak aoe or pop manaward. Not to mention I can teleport to people if I desire but most of the time I'll just pop manaward and take the hit. Am I wrong with this line of thought? I've literally never died because of this because I only do it with attacks that I know are safe to take. I've had healers yell at me for taking a (minor)hit, then proceed to troll me the rest of the dungeon by specifically saving rescue for me when I pop LL, calling me trash, saying I'm "the reason no one wants to heal" or even accuse ME of trolling!

I've yet to actually encounter one of those mythical beings but they supposedly exist. Healer princesses who just stand around and twiddle their thumbs 90% of the dungeon when there is nothing to heal but still complain when you actually give them some work.

I've encountered plenty of healers who only heal and nothing else, but it seems like these drama queens who have some vendetta against blms (or maybe they are just extra pissy) are a recent thing to me. Maybe I just didn't encounter them before.

There are tons of them actually. Even in level 80 content. Actually I'd say it's more common than not, or at the very least VERY sparingly they will use dps abilities. They usually are overhealing.

When I play BLM I am bothered greatly when people complain about me eating AoE's or even worse when they try to stacks AoE's on me out of spite.

If I die that is on me. Also the amount of people I see in NN telling me players to move out of every AoE is disturbing. You can eat many AoE's in this game and be fine. Just a matter of knowing which AoE's you can survive and sure a Google search might give you a list but far easier to just try it out and see how it plays out. The bad is always not as bad as people make it out to be nor is it a major resource sink like in other games.

They probably complain because, like me, they've seen so many BLMs thinking they can just take every AoE under the sun and not die. I encountered one in Orbonne just the other day who never moved once to do any mechanics and died at least 3 times in a single fight. Because they never moved with anyone when mechanics happened, they were often too far out of range and made healers have to move away from the rest of the party just to be able to heal them, so often they died before they could be healed anyway. There were even times where they were a single tap of a movement key away from sidestepping an AoE, and still they didn't move. They'd even still be in their leylines and didn't budge.

It's one thing to know you can take a hit, but someone out there is teaching budding BLMs to just stand in place and expect both healers to have them targeted the entire fight and focus heal them. Dead BLMs do 0 DPS. Sometimes you're better off just moving.

Did you and I get the same BLM? lmao

Had one doing almost exactly as you described, in Orbonne, just a little while ago. Normally I'm used to BLMs not moving out of minor AoEs and if I see them pop a Manaward, I won't bother worrying - but this dude would just not move ever. Not even from the actual dangerous stuff.

The AST was babysitting them more than me, so they managed to not die quite so frequently, but still about 3-4 deaths over the course of the run simply because they ate too many vuln stacks or stood in something really bad.

I agree standing in stuff and expecting to get healed solely for that is not cool. Though often I will just test my limits by standing in the AoE at the time if it kills me I will apologize and adjust next time. Though also play heals so I will also stand in damage if I also know generally an AoE heal will be coming out. My issue is when people just generally expect BLM to move out everything just because. Though if someone does it everytime no matter what then yeah let them die or even kill them

I've had the same happening to me plenty of times, escpecially in expert. Less so in leveling dungeons but expert roulette is always a treat.
In my recent Gauntlet run in roulette I weaved MW in one of my Triple Flares on the first pack because I know one of two things always happens: tank missed a mob or I had crazy crit luck and it's now happily chewing on the BLM or I get targeted by aoes that cover the whole Leylines. The latter happened, I made sure to only eat one of the two aoes covering my LL and it didn't even break the shield.
"dont expect me to heal that shit behaviour u eat extra u die"
I just replied "don't worry, I never expected you to. I'll take care of extra damage myself"
And then they proceeded to drop aoes over my Leylines several times and pulled me out of them at one point just because. It felt like a petty attempt at revenge for not immediately bowing to the master of life and death. Plenty of healers on a power trip trying to teach other players a lesson by not healing them/ purposely making them eat extra damage.

I don't mind people eating extra damage for dps when I'm on healer as long as they do it in moderation and don't expect me to babysit them. If they can survive it without my help, who am I to complain?
