They didn't "fix it up", they added seasonal decorations and packed them away again. The cherry trees don't even make much sense in the desert setting.

I haven't spent a huge amount of time there but it's usual design suits the desert setting. I've been meaning to get an apartment there for one of my alts because that's the style I want for him.

No the cherry trees didnt make much sense, but they 'fixed' the ugliness of the map. As far as desert settings go, nothing about that map looks 'desert'. Its a terrible representation of the desert. Should have dirt walkways and cactus

Why "should" it have dirt paths? They're quite capable of working out how to pave a street if they want to.

There's more to deserts and arid settings than just dirt and cactus.

Plus there's a difference between "built in a desert" and "looks like a desert".

Not every desert has cacti, in fact there's a TV Trope for that. And besides it's obvious The Goblet's design space is "oasis" rather than "dusty western town" like you're implying and I for one love how it looks, yeah yeah I know "OPINIONS" but that's all this thread is. What some folks find to be an ugly housing district others find it to be beautiful.
