that's putting all the blame on adults just wanting a space to engage with other like minded adults and not the minors lying to access content they shouldn't be. people over 18 can get in serious trouble because of that and it's the minors fault.

Yeah, usually we hold adults accountable instead of literal kids. Adults are the ones who should have the mature judgement and presence of mind not to get into sexual situations under circumstances where 1. They can't know the age of their partner and 2. It's explicitly prohibited by the terms of service.

First time I've greed with you. You are correct. It's not entirely the minor's fault if an adult sells them alcohol without carding them first. The adult gets in HUGE trouble as well.

Same applies here. You don't blame the underaged person when the ADULT engages in adult behavior with them without vetting their age.

They are vetted though, it requires a credit card or paypal account to pay a subscription fee, which minors cannot own.

It comes back to the problem of the parent, rather than paying attention to their kids, just handing over their card and letting them use a non-restricted account.

Try accessing this site on a brand new cellphone contract account where the cellphone provider has default restrictions in place and you need to verify to remove those restrictions, you will get "Site blocked, mature content" and redirected to home.

I'm trying to be as nice as possible with you here, but as I and many others already pointed out, the game has sex references, drugs, violence, trafficking, brothels, slavery and so on within the games written story content. It's not Super Mario sunshine.

It's in written form, why? Because writing doesn't get hit with harsher ratings that actual graphic depiction does.

Should we go yell at all those players in Teen rated Fortnite to stop taking videos of "teabagging" Corpses? That's a little more of a graphic depiction don't you think?

As for the roleplay community that does do 18+ Venues, they have a strict vetting process in place at many of them, just because you don't see it here, doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Anyone can come in and party, but if they want to partake in drinking, gambling gil, other extra-circular activities, they have to be vetted.

You'd be surprised just how serious the RP community takes these situations, not just to keep minors out of that issue, but to keep adults from potentially putting themselves in a situation where they're letting a minor "simulate" activities they shouldn't be (Drinking/Gambling/etc)

Not all 18+ Venues are ERP, a lot of them are just nightclubs, they are strict.

As stated elsewhere: You can buy both the game and game time cards without a credit card. You can get a debit card from a bank at age 16, and still be a minor. There are ways to play the game as a teen without borrowing mommy or daddy's credit card. Please stop blaming parents, when it's adults playing the game who need to be mindful of their fellow players.

The game's content has sexual references, yes. But not explicit sexual acts being written out in detail like you will get in an ERP session.

No. Just no. I know because I have worked at and helped manage several venues (some that sell ERP services) over the years. While I do not participate in ERP, I can without a doubt tell you that NO age verification happens in game.

Again, I am a part of the RP community. I have been for years. I order a drink at every venue I enter. Never once been asked my age. I've gambled at the casinos. Never been asked my age.

The only thing I've seen taken seriously by venues is in regards to Lalafels and the appearance of pedophilia.

For the record, I honestly don't care if people ERP, I choose not to. I would prefer it NOT be mentioned in PF ads or shouts. Venues that offer these services can mention it discreetly to patrons once they are IN the venue if they choose.

There are some role players that _do_ have age of consent buttons, especially on their individual character carrds (which i notice is more a thing over here on crystal) or their venue carrds which are like "by clicking this i consent that i am over the age of consent to view adult content in my area..." blah blah, i've made carrds for plenty of people and always recommend this feature. short of having everyone you interact with send a photo copy of their ID, i'm not sure what else roleplayers that do engage in erp can do to verify ages.

The ESRB rating doesn't rate online interactions, and it says as such clearly on the rating itself. So your argument is flawed right out the gate.

This is why we have a terms of service and a moderation team that enforce a set of rules specifically laid out entirely separately from the ESRB rating.

The realization that your original reply wasn't just a joke has left me genuinely astonished, congratulations. I am not an accomplished enough mental gymnastic to take you seriously.

I also don't think raiders would be impacted that much if static recruitment was banned from PF; Most people recruiting for statics are using other platforms to do so these days, it's just a lot more convenient.

The fact that you and others in this thread are policing how others are playing FFXIV, and are resorting to insults is, in all honesty, extremely sad.
