It would make sense if they think they can get away with it. I for example think that Yoshi's team doesn't have nearly enough of a budget and not enough manpower for how popular the game is, but the higher ups apparently don't see a reason to increase it as long as it's still gaining popularity despite those limitations.Square Enix aren't going to be putting FFXIV into maintenance mode when the game has grown every expansion. It makes zero financial sense. Yoshida has said his boss wants the game to continue to grow and will likely be supported for at least 5 more years. You don't grow a playerbase by wrapping up the game.

Then I remember that fall can mean December 20th and we're getting an insane amount of content being cut :OOOOO
Edit: Don't forget that release dates can be pushed back! Don't forget what happened to Cyberpunk!

That’s one reason i think player should voice their disappointment even when they feel the situation is understandable. It would make sense if they think they can get away with it. In the end this is business, and at least the higher ups are always going to aim at securing the same profit with the least cost — which translates to limited budget and insufficient manpower the ffxiv dev team seems to suffer from for a long time.
If we just eat up all the content cuts with no complain, that gives the executives more reasons not to allocate resource to ffxiv team.
A strong voice from player base can be a leverage for ffxiv dev team to ask for more resources and support from the company.

I'm all for voicing disappointments. I'm pretty sure I do that almost every day on these forums in some form or another. What I think should be avoided though is things like "game's dead, rip" or "hardcore vs casuals" or other petty/unproductive things. Sure, I wish some would see the bigger picture, but I know full well that it's easier said than done if one feels slighted. I understand that completely. That’s one reason i think player should voice their disappointment even when they feel the situation is understandable.

Honestly, this entire forum just got rekt by this guy.No one even cares about the story, I personally skip all the cutscenes and I know many others who does the same. The only thing that matters in this game is the battle content.
Edit: This is clearly the case in streaming platforms. Ultimate fights draws tens of thousands of viewers while people who stream the story only get like single digit viewers if any!
