Will FFXIV ever go f2p?

Or b2p, rather... meaning you’d just buy the expansions and play without a sub. I know SE needs money, but they already have a cash shop — an expensive cash shop — on top of their monthly fee.

Judging by the terrible “Endwalker” name and the ending of the major arc, this game is heading towards becoming one big ad for its cash shop.

Maybe, one day, who knows. They still charge a sub for XI though, so probably not anytime soon.

My bet is they're going for a speed record for a forum ban. They've been banned at least once before.

I know this is a troll topic but I highly doubt FFXIV will go F2P and it's definitely not B2P. Cash shop is expensive and some of the items are probably overpriced and should be account wide, but they are still optional. OP's topics keep sprouting up like weeds.
