They're allowed to post furry art. So says I, a furry Hrothgar player. If you cannot handle simple SFW artwork, then you may want to look deep into yourself on why that is.
I think some of it is strange, but it's a matter of personal preference. I don't consider myself to be a "furry" though, despite playing a Hrothgar. I just like lions.Even so, if I don't like something, I can just move past it and keep going with my day. I won't dwell on it.
lol
Yeah, that's my reaction. They have every right to post things just as you do...provided it meets the forum guidelines of course. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't mean that they lack any sort of "authority". The only authority here is the forum mods, absent as they may seem at times. And just because you play a Hrothgar, that doesn't entitle you to being a jerk about it. I say all of this as a Hrothgar player.

So you're Hrothgar #4987 that runs around wearing nothing but straps and the leopard print thong. Okay, furry.
Depending on how somebody sees the criteria, liking any anthropomorphic creature can technically qualify you as a furry. People who like animal characters with personalities (Lion King, Jungle Book) and those playing anthro characters (Hrothgar, Tauren, Khajiit, etc) who just like the look and whatnot are often considered the SFW kind. You'll like art here and there of it, but you don't go delving into anything NSFW dealing with it. The NSFW deviant kind are surprisingly a minority in the furry fandom, people just have this weird thing where they consider them to be the majority when they're not. Sorta like how people tend to think most snakes are poisonous, when in reality less than 25% of species of snakes are venomous.I think some of it is strange, but it's a matter of personal preference. Good to know, I suppose. None of this ever really crossed my mind. Guess I learn something new every day. lolDepending on how somebody sees the criteria, liking any anthropomorphic creature can technically qualify you as a furry. Phew! I'm not a furry then. I was worried there for a second!Depending on how somebody sees the criteria, liking any anthropomorphic creature can technically qualify you as a furry. You know I've always wondered if there was actually a distinction. 'Cause dragons and stuff are cool. I'd consider a cool looking reptile race in a game. Still never actually played one, always preferred elves or plain humans. Also, argonians look dumb. Like, even in ESO they look dumb.
Oh yeah, female hrothgar, female hrothgar..
Sure, they can look good with no hair, but I'd rather them have the option of hair, so everyone wins. Some nice styles too, so they look good. Preferably not locked to faces... They need to fix that fantasia thing first too. Probably said this before.Yeah, it's been my ongoing theory that the Art we have of them is to be taking as 100% their core vision of them and that they don't have hair just like female lions don't have manes compared to the males (But the trade-off would be that they can wear hats as the only reason I can see as to why the males can't wear hats is the fact that the devs really don't want to take away the mane as they are "lions").
So I've been paying more attention to finding bald female cats to show how they don't need hair.
Might be able to actually see moon cat fangs then!

This is a great vid about the history of the fandom, the name and how there's no real agreed upon unified meaning behind it beyond having an appreciation for depictions of anthropomorphic characters.
I know not everyone is on the same level or page on these kinda things, but I also know that much of this player base is defined by "thirst" and gravitate towards things they find sexually attractive for 1 reason or another. This is pretty out-n-proud on the Viera male thread where everyone wants their desired vision of a hot or cute guy bod, but I feel like things over here gets real silent cause very few want to be called a furry.
I personally don't shy away from the topic, I think Hrothgar males are hot and are clearly a successful attempt at making an attractive furry character model (which isn't shocking given how the devs make characters). I simply expect and want the females to also be something many could enjoy as being aesthetically attractive furry characters. Furry art and Fan-art from Western RPG games/ media IPs show this off the best, so I use it to show my love for the topic as people who like that type of art will undoubtedly be part of those who pick them up.
I'd prefer they have hair as well, and that the males had hair to. But looking at everything in the game it seems like YP's vision for the males being "beastly lion men" is to give them unyielding manes that are simply part of their character model that they can not control or shave off ... and that vision for their manes seems to be at least A factor in why the males can't wear hats (but can wear hoods).
I could easily see them saying "In order to get that elegant lioness look we didn't give them hair, but because of that we were able to give them hats!" seeing as that seems the direction they went with the art. If it's a choice between the Viera and Hrothgar head non-sense as it currently is and "no hair, but you can wear ANY hat for your gender along with all the types of headgear the males can wear" I'd go with the 2nd option as the hats in this game will do far more to make your character look unique than a handful of hairstyles ever could.
In short, I think the way they did Hrothgar male manes was horrible and with the logic displayed with that I could easily see them deciding not to give females hair at all but there may be an upside to that.
-----------
Enough of that.
Almost forgot my daily dose of art.
Perhaps I'm unique in this thread, but I've never cared about demanding they look a certain way other than "attractive and cute" as that's the way the dudes were made. Given the art making them look to have a body shape similar to Viera and Highlander confirmed to me that they will deliver on that front. W/e flavor of that they go for, be it extreme sexual dimorphism/flat faces/animal faces/Updated Mithra is fine by me.
