Yeah, I thought he had class changed to machinist too. So this will be an interesting new job.
Also one for me I'll be watching closely to see if it's one I want to play as I currently prefer noctural astro when I'm healing, and that's going away.
Haha good riddance Noct sect. You won't be missed. I look forward to trying out Sage.
My guess for the other new job name is Soul Reaper. A scythe weapon type would be badass. It makes sense to have another melee because there are 2/4 dps slots in a party and the classic setup is half melee, half ranged.

In all honesty, I don't think this will have anything to do with necromancer, per se. My guess is they're going with Templar (not sure if it's been mentioned but it's a reasonable guess based on the director of The Filth and the Fury being Julien Temple), as demand for mystic knight was high, and Templar is an iteration of it. The only reason I think it may be a scythe, besides the reaper on the shirt, is it's a popular weapon and if it is Templar, going with a sword would make it sword user #6. Could be something like a glaive or some other modified weapon. Expecting it'll be maiming given the style of Templar. Also, Zenos's trained fighting style, which he has applied to SAM swords, is that of a mystic knight, i.e. drawing aether out of the blades he wields, and I'm half guessing he'll be representing this new dps in the trailer as well. I wonder if this will lead them to potentially rework NIN into striking to simplify gear distribution going forward.
Necromancer can be done in the future, but my firmer expectation is it will be in 7.0 if it's to come at all, as that's when a caster is very likely (along with another ranged dps I reckon). Something with a DOT niche and which benefits from SPS (if they can integrate the two concepts; other MMOs have), so it has an easy time sharing gear melds with BLM, would be cool. Unfortunately it'll be competing with GEO and Time Mage (which could easily be done with a darkness aspect), but we'll see. It almost made it into XI, so I'd like for it to come into XIV, but I'll take a darkness-wielding Time Mage as well.
The healer design is honestly very good. I was expecting CHM/apothecary. I recall someone submitted a design for GEO with floating crystals that the GEO deploys when casting spells, and this does look a lot like that. I'd love for a caster DPS with a floating type weapon like this.

When the game's story becomes self-aware:
I'm honestly surprised they went with another melee DPS, which is already a bit crowded, before another magic DPS. This will put us at 5 melee, 3 magic, 3 ranged. Unless they put magic and ranged together in one pool when they decide what to make.
I'm personally leaning towards it being Assassin with the some XIV flair added by giving a different weapon from what it had in FFT.
Scythes seem like a probable option since they could utilize the weaponskills from XI that way.
Type-0 has Sice, who uses a scythe as a melee weapon.
Will definitely try Sage when it comes. I think it looks interesting. Hopefully they use many kinds of barriers and not just protective (damage shielding) and healing ones; barriers that boost, impede, damage, or seal (and other possibilities that I forget) could be interesting as well.
Since they redid Sage to be completely unique to ffxiv (it was originally a master class of whm and blm) I think the melee dps will be Magus or Warlock reimagined for XIV. It's been in previous FFs as a upgrade to blm and rdm but we could see SE mold it to a more melee focused caster that uses Enfire, Enthunder, Enblizzard, etc.
I'd pay good Gil for a necromancer who summons undead highlanders with glowy eyes to fight for them. lol How funny would that be. xD
